Last weekend it was time to finally gas up the boat. We've been taking it out a lot lately, and it's been getting low on fuel. (Boats measure gas in GPH - that's gallons per hour, not miles per gallon - and they go through a lot of gas). My boat has two Chrysler V8 engines beneath the floor in the salon, so as you can imagine, it eats gas. Om nom nom!
Armed with a little help from NYKidd1990 - thanks for your support - and the crew assistance of Lakhota and PaddedRob716 - it was time to take it down to the gas dock and fill up. The total cost was nearly $400, and the tanks are just about 3/4 filled... and ready for adventures for the months of September and October, when the boat comes out of the water before winter. Wah!
As long as we were out there we decided to motor out onto the lake and get some photos - and what a perfect day for a photoshoot! I think you'll agree from the pictures below, it was an amazing day for it - perfectly calm, blue skies, and almost no boat traffic. Two besties, their boat captain, and a couple of Crinklz - one Aquanaut, one Astronaut - and it was an amazing day.

I should mention that Lakhota and Rob had made me an amazing pasta dinner at their campsite the night before. It's not too far from the boat, so having them close enough to stop by for some shrimp linguine one night, and drive over to help me with the boat is the next morning, feels pretty amazing. Having friends like these is the definitely of community, and it's a wonderful feeling. Thanks, boys.
