When I was a junior in college, and going through a period of heightened stress in my life, I skipped classes on more than one occasion to stay in diapers.
Actually, on more than one occasion is probably an understatement.
On a whole bunch of occasions.
The normal college stress was certainly a factor, sure. Classes. Exams.
Some stuff with a family member added to that.
And put depression on top of that - something I'll get into in a future blog entry - and there were, quite frankly, a few occasions where going to class just didn't happen...
Rarely did I skip class to study.
I probably should have, but I didn't.
And I almost never skipped classes to hang with friends.
In fact, I'd lie to my friends instead, telling them I was going to class - the only time they'd leave me alone.
And then, I'd pad up...
When I was really, really stressed I'd do one of two things.
On a few occasions I'd drive over to a friend's house.
My friend Christian, a former competitive swimmer, lived a few blocks from me, and usually slept in until early afternoon. He had no car and would frequently hit me up for rides after the pool he lifeguarded at closed for the evening; we'd hang out and do whatever, and I'd take him home.
Christian was straight and hot as hell, with a swimmer's body. Tan, toned, and cute as hell. And, if you know me, you know I'm a sucker for a hot ass. Christian's? Hot. As. Fuck.
So when I was stressed as fuck, I would sometimes drive over to Christian's.
Christian was cool with the diaper thing - and he liked to be jerked off. He was straight, but being jerked off was an addiction for him, and he'd wear a diaper if it meant he could come.
If you know me, you know my deal. [NOTE: If you're looking for the PG-13 version of this blog entry, there isn't one... but I'd skip to the next paragraph if I were you.] I like to diaper someone and spend time chillin' in Pampers. Sometimes there's no sex involved, but most often when there is it involves me laying next to a hot diapered ass, focusing my attention on the diaper - or the ass - as I hump my own diaper.
So, on days I was really stressed, I'd let myself in at Christian's place. I'd walk into his room and he'd be asleep, but he'd hear me come in and peek at me, kind of grinning a little. He'd un-do his belt and jeans - he always fell asleep fully dressed - and then put his hands behind his head and kind of lay back with a smirk. For the next hour or two I'd have complete freedom: strip my friend, wipe and powder him, Pamper his ass, flip him, rub him, and do anything I wanted. I'd eventually squirt in my diaper and then, as part of the deal, I'd jerk him. He'd squirt, usually in his own diaper, and then we'd just lay there. Sometimes I'd fall asleep. My favorite part? When it was time to go Christian would stop me as I tried to remove his diaper. "I'll get it..." he'd tell me. And then he'd ask me: "Want me to get yours?"
I remember to this day what I'd be thinking as I lay there doing my thing: I should be at class right now...
I've since given at least a half dozen college-bound ABDLs advice on heading off to school. (You may have been one of those who's heard the lecture: GPA matters, credit cards are evil, internships are good, etc.). When I was in school nobody was giving advice to me. If I could go back in the past I'd probably have skipped a few less classes. But I didn't. And I remember how, at the moment that I was jerking in my diaper, rubbing the adorable ass of my swimmer friend, class didn't even seem remotely important. Somehow, lost in that moment, the fact that both my friend and I were in diapers trumped all else, and made everything else but that seem remarkably unimportant.
Most of the days I skipped class, though, I stayed at home.
I lived on the twentieth floor of a high-rise apartment building. Most days I'd wake up, have breakfast, get dressed, grab some books, and hit the highway for the short drive into school. Some days, though, I'd get part way through that routine and just hit a wall. Maybe the thought of sitting through two hours of Shakespeare just couldn't get me motivated; perhaps I'd neglected to read for Philosophy 101; it could have been anything, really. But I'd be on my way out the door, sometimes waiting for the elevator, and I'd just say... fuck it.
I'd lock the door, turn off the ringer on the phone, and strip naked. Diaper out; baby powder out; wipes out; pacifiers and bottles out. I'd warm up some milk and Pamper up; from that point forward the rules were the same: no phone calls, no answering the buzzer, and no adult TV or internet until whatever class I was skipping was over. While my classmates and professor were discussing the subject of the day I was crawling around on the floor in a soaked diaper; while hundreds of other students on campus were paying attention to a lecture doing their best to prepare for adulthood I was trying desperately to hold on to my childhood, quite literally.
And, as with my sessions with Christian, my toddlerization sessions seemed okay; the diaper, and the feeling that it gave me, was so amazingly powerful that I'd forget about everything else.
I've diapered more than fifty non-ABDLs. If you're a long-time reader of the blog, you know the whole story; if you're new to it, read back some.
Most of my friends know about diapers. In fact, a large number have worn with me on at least one occasion, with several wearing a number of times.
As you can imagine, I've been asked the question many, many times.
"Why diapers?"
First, let me say, nobody has asked me that question more times than I have.
If you're ABDL, you probably know the feeling: you're growing up, maybe in middle school or junior high, and you have urges to wear diapers.
You question yourself. Boy, do you question yourself.
You question whether something is wrong with you. Wrong with you psychologically. Wrong with you sexually. Wrong with you socially. Wrong with you morally.
If you're like most of us, you go through 'phases'.
Some call it the binge/purge cycle. You binge by collecting as much diaper-related stuff as possible - bottles and pacifiers if you're AB, a variety of diapers if you're DL. You purge by throwing it all away and trying to make the jump to boxers or briefs. A lot of guilt occurs along the way. And, eventually, you repeat the cycle. For some of us, many times over...
Eventually, a huge percentage of us come to realize that it's not something that's going away. That's it's instinct, really; for whatever reason, we will always be stuck in diapers.
Most of us make peace with it.
Some of us never will.
But what is it about diapers that we love so much?
What is it about these objects that most kids fight to get out of that we cling to?
In my first few years of college I coached competitive swimming.
I was 19 years old, coaching a number of successful age-group swimmers. I ran two practices a day, and handled the team's publicity, financials... pretty much the day-to-day operations.
At the same time I was running a swimming pool during the summers. The facility was open dawn to dusk, with a number of different programs going on throughout the week.
I'd spent most of my time in high school working before and after school, and my daily routine had been full: lifeguard 6 a.m. - 7:30 a.m., class til 2:30, swim practice 3 - 5, teach swim lessons or lifeguard til 9 p.m.; you get the idea.
When I moved out of the house to go to college I never returned home, instead choosing to spend summers at my grandparents' summer place (see
the cottage series), mostly supporting myself with money earned coaching and lifeguarding.
So that first summer wasn't much different; after a few weeks off from school I got into work full-time: practices at 7 a.m., pool office 10 - 2ish, filling in for absent lifeguards some afternoons, and practices in the evenings. I spent way too much time at the pool, and between meets, fundraising, and other activities I had very little time to myself.
I also wasn't sleeping well. It had been the same in high school; you'd think that having to be up at 5 and not getting home until 10 or 11 would result in me going straight to bed, but I didn't; I probably went through high school on four to five hours of sleep nightly; this was one of the ways that I justified skipping college classes later... sleeping in was just making up for lost time.
I'd always known that I loved diapers. There was never any doubt, even through the guilt and the junior high attempts to quit wearing them. It was that first summer of college, though, that I realized how much I loved them...
...and, ironically, it was a night that I somehow slept through practice.
I hadn't been sleeping well. Between staffing issues, a health department inspection, and pool rental fees I was barely staying ahead of, I had some worries. So one Friday afternoon, after I'd ensured every lifeguard would be reporting for work and written the monthly checks, I realized I had a few hours free. I decided to go back to the cottage for lunch.
I sat at the kitchen table, watching the water for a while. I always grew sleepy listening to the waves lap against the breakwall, and I found myself starting to tire.
I knew I had to at the pool in a few hours. I'd only intended to come home to eat and maybe relax an hour or two. Instead, I found myself walking into the bedroom, dropping my clothes to the floor, and heading for the diaper drawer.
I still remember today, years later, exactly how it smelled. This old wooden furniture at a year-round lakefront place... you opened the drawer and instantly caught a whiff of a mixture of must and cedar. Filling it with diapers during the summer meant the addition of diaper scents and baby powder. And those four smells together were the most comforting smell on earth.
I taped a diaper on and lay down on the bed. The cottage was always cooler indoors than out, and it was a chilly day to begin with. I pulled a blanket over me and lay there. Every care I'd had earlier in the day had disappeared, and I reached across the bed, grabbed a pacifier, and popped it in my mouth.
I knew it was important to be at practice, but something made me want to stay in bed. I turned over and lay on my stomach, listening to the waves lap against the wall. I felt the diaper press against my rear, and flexed so I could listen to the crinkle. In the distance boat motors hummed and shouts of waterskiers and swimmers carried across the water. To me it was all one big lullaby; within minutes I had drifted off. Sleeping like a baby...
It was dark when I woke up, and I was shocked. 10 p.m.??? I had slept more than eight hours.
I grabbed frantically for my phone, calling the pool. Derek, my least responsible lifeguard answered. Thank God, he'd at least shown up during part of his shift. As if reading my mind he assured me he'd been on time. I asked him what had happened during practice, and he told me that every swimmer had shown up and, in my absence, Derek had chosen to have them swim laps - something they'd enjoyed much more than the difficult practice they assumed I'd had planned for them.
"A few of them were worried about you. They say you never come late to a practice, much less just don't come... they were going to try to get their parents to drive them by to make sure you're okay."
I was on my feet in seconds, ripping a pair of shorts over my diaper, walking to the door to make sure it was locked. I thanked Derek and hung up, quickly calling the parent I felt most likely to make the trip around the lake. They were home, and after I apologized for leaving their kids in Derek's care they urged me to save my apologies.
"Everyone is entitled to a day off," I remember her telling me. "You're just two years older than our oldest, and you do so much... you need to remember to take some time to just be a kid every once in a while."
I remember looking down at my diaper and chuckling. If she only knew...
I think of that day as my diaper awakening.
That was the day that I came to fully accept, 100%, the role that diapers would play in my life.
I hadn't slept more than 4, 5 hours at a time in weeks. I'd tossed, turned, and thought about all of the various issues I would have to deal with the next day. Yet something about that diaper had transported me to such a peaceful, protected place, I'd fallen asleep against my own will and slept peacefully for hours. I hadn't consciously made a decision to blow off a practice, but I'd missed one - and I was all right with that.
Most importantly, I slept better than I ever had before; and I felt more at peace than I ever had before. It was a feeling that I would try to recreate many, many times...
...I didn't know why diapers make me feel that way, but I knew that they did. And I felt profoundly lucky to have anything that made me feel that good. It's a feeling I've never forgotten, a feeling I will always have as a part of me...
So why do diapers play such an important role in our lives?
Every time I log on to a diaper website I am amazed.
I remember, like it was yesterday, thinking I was alone in this.
Later, I would find DPF.com, and read text ads for ABies and DLs around the U.S.
Still, I remember involving non-ABDLs in my little diaper fetish because I couldn't find any actual ABDLs willing to do anything more than cyber online.
Today it seems like there are thousands of us, with new ABies, DLs, furries, and other fetish kids popping up on the internet on the daily.
I've met nearly two dozen in person, and have gotten to know some really well online.
I'm amazed by our numbers, and by the fact that, for all of our differences, we are so similar: we all have some kind of hang up that, basically, makes us want to stay in diapers forever.
When I explain to my friends, and people who aren't into this fetish that I've diapered, what it is about diapers that I like, they all seem to understand the part about wanting to feel peaceful... protected... cared for...
When I did the Pampers for Pay thing, the fact that I am sexually turned on by diapers was obvious, but usually not discussed. If I was asked about it I'd tell the diaper wearer that it was their ass that I found hot, and the diapers were a side thing - that usually satisfied them and made them feel warm and tingly enough to stop asking questions. It's harder to tell someone that you are attracted to a diaper than their ass in a diaper.
But, the truth is, I am attracted to all of it.
I love the way diapers make me feel... emotionally and physically.
I love a hot diapered ass - especially if it's attached to a swimmer like Christian. But I love padding up and getting down on all fours, too. I can toddlerize myself, or another ABDL, and enjoy each equally.
I guess, in a lot of ways, I'm 1/3 AB, 1/3 DL, and 1/3 sitter...
Truthfully, I know exactly what I love about diapers.
It's a list of things, honestly. And, as you've already seen if you've read this far, I can type all day long...
So I thought I'd pose the question to my readers:
What is it about diapers that you enjoy so much?
If someone unfamiliar with our fetish asked you why you love diapers,
what would you tell them?
Unsurprisingly, many of my readers find diapers to be both comforting and erotic, just like me. Their answers, in no particular order...

Hey Chris,
I've been a reader of your blog for quite some time, and I have to say some of the stuff you've posted lately is really deep, and I thank you for that-it has allowed me to really think about where my attraction to diapers has come from. Therefore, I feel like I should contribute to your blog in return for all it has given me.
Although I started out as mainly a DL, baby diapers had always hooked me; their smell and colors intrigued me. I think this is where my AB side comes in. Ultimately I like diapers from a combo of both AB and DL. The DL side of me loves the idea of wearing a diaper, the ability to use it when you need to and not have to miss something you're doing to go to the bathroom. It's the utilitarian uses of a diaper that attract me to them, for all intents and purposes they're practical.
What appeals to my AB side is the security of wearing a diaper. To me it means that I can take a break from all the worries and concerns of being an adult and enjoy the feeling of being as carefree as a child. Being a pilot, I always have to be in control and at the top of my game. Diapers represent the ability to take off my pilot hat and put in my pacifier so-to-speak. Diapers also represent the fact that you are cared for. As a baby your parents, siblings, or caretakers always changed your diaper, but as an adult baby, or teenbaby, you have to change yourself. I think this is where our desire to have a daddy or big bro comes from. How many of us have fantasized about being changed when we're changing ourselves?
Although as a DL and as an AB we enjoy diaper changes, but each for a different reason. As a DL you change because you need to, the diaper is wet or messy and you need a clean dry one so you can go back to whatever it is you're doing. As an AB you change because, although you do need it, you want to be changed. You want to share that intimate moment of showing someone else your naked self, and knowing that the person changing you cares about you. You feel safe and secure.
As for me, what really attracts me to diapers is/are diaper changes. I have always loved them, and some of my first memories are of having my diaper changed. Ultimately it is my AB side that is what really puss me to diapers in the first place. I associate them with being a kid and just being able to take a break from reality to recharge my batteries.
Thanks for letting me share this with you Chris,
CoolGuyDan
Cwis,
If I had to explain my fascination with diapers to someone I would tell them that some people (myself included) like them because they provide a sense of security. I was molested by my uncle when I was 8. My sister was an infant at the time and I was jealous of her. She was totally cared for every moment of the day. I wanted that feeling and diapers did the trick. I would sneak diapers out of my sister's room (of course, they were way too small for me so I would just put them inside my underwear.
There are a lot of people out there who are not sexually turned on by diapers. For me diapers are not really a sexual thing: the just make me feel comfortable.

My love for diapers is two-fold. I love the humiliation aspect of being diapered, and of being forced to wet and mess in my diapers. I'm not a baby by any stretch of the imagination, but I imagine myself wearing a diaper at a parents' request, kept in them for a parents' convenience, and forced to mess, and stay in my own mess for an extended period of time.
I also love the way they feel. I've had very litle in the way of sexual experiences, but I do a lot of jerking in my dorm, and there is nothing like wearing a wet and messy diaper while you are jerking it. I love the way it feels against my dick, and the way the diaper and it's contents fill my asscrack. It's very sensual, and as much as I would like to experiment with new sexual partners one day, I can pretty much do it all by myself as long as I'm wearing a diaper.
Thanks for posting this, Chris, and for writing about this topic in your blog, it's intresting to see what other people have to say about it. I hope we get to meet soon, keep blogging kid.

Actually, why diapers is a pretty easy question for me. Because they feel good. And using them feels good too.
Based on what I've read on various diaper sites over the years, I came to diapers late, that is in my 30's. The idea came to me after reading about DPF (Diaper Pail Friends) in The Advocate Classifieds. The thing that stood out for me was the idea that diapers feel good. But as much as I wanted to, I still held back from actually going out and buying them and wearing them. In the end I did, and am glad that I did.

About question 2, now this is a tough one. I feel like I always knew I had a thing for diapers, but I never really knew why. When I put on a diaper I get a rush of emotions. First off, it is very sexually arousing, even thinking about it can really get me going, if you know what I mean.
Sticking that last tape sends a wave of relaxation over my body. I am immediately put at ease and all the problems of the day melt away. It is a very comforting feeling.
There is also a physical aspect to wearing a diaper which is one reason I suspect there are more men then women in this fetish. The feeling of the soft warm padding against my manly parts is comforting. It is of course a very sensitive area and to have it held in place so carefully and yet so restrictively, is not only comforting but it is a little erotic. Now actually using a diaper is a completely different matter all together. While some people would imagine siting in your own urine or waste as being completely disgusting, for me it is quite enjoyable. As the padding swells around my crotch it creates a warm cushion to further deepen my regressed state.
I described it to my wife as: it's very comforting thing to wear a diaper. It brings me back to a time when I was much younger and I had much less responsibility. Feeling the thick padding between my legs reminds me of a carefree time in my life where all that mattered was what toys you were going to play with next. Since I am a DL the main draw of wearing a diaper is sexual, but I do enjoy hanging out in a dry diaper and being reminded of my childhood every time I hear that distinctive crinkle or feel that soft padding.

I would say it isn't just about diapers, but the whole AB experience. There is nothing like being forced back into the most simple time of your life. Having to give up everything and depend solely on a caregiver. You have to eat, wear, and play with only what they want you to, and only things that are age appropriate. Having to use a thick diaper with a baby design to go potty and poopy at all times then not being able to do anything about your stinky mess until someone wants to change you. It's a release to give yourself up and go back to a time where it didn't matter if you wet.

I like how they feel wrapping me around my middle. The odd sense of safety...and convenience.
And as I wear mostly under clothes, I like the secretiveness of being in public and in a diaper.
I simply enjoy the feeling I once had as an infant...carefree and in good care.
I am not so much an AB...though I can play the part.
I like cloth diapers for the feel and also a blanket sleeper.
It must be the sensory stuff...enclosed in cloth.
Maybe a feeling of not being able to get out... enclosure.

Cwis,
Your blog is cool as shit, dude. I've been following it since early 2009, but this is the first time I've wanted to respond. Diapers is something I'm very passionate about, and when I'm given the opportunity to explain why I like them? I can't resist.
You should know that I am a professional model, and once had the chance to wear a diaper in a photoshoot. The shoot was an ad for medical clinics in South America. One day I may send the copy for you to post on the blog. For now, you'll have to settle for words on a page, since I can't have any pictures of me out there on the internet that could harm my career.
In Brazil babies are potty trained very early, as young as eight months of age. I was potty trained during the day by my first birthday, and stopped wearing diapers at night less than a year later. I don't have any memories of actually wearing a diaper, which is I think why I long to wear them so much.
I like the feelings that they give me: a comforted, protected feeling. I grew up with a mother who worked two or more jobs, and a father who worked for weeks at a time in other countries, so while I was loved as a child I was rarely cared for in a physical sense. I have read about other diaper guys who grew attached to their diapers because of a lack of care, but for me I wasn't in diapers for very long, so that isn't it at all.
I also like the way the diapers make me feel in a sexual manner. A diaper rubbing on my asshole is just the hottest feeling. I don't pee or poop in them, I just wear them. I like to just blast in tons of baby powder and let it rub against everything. I've exploded in diapers so hard I'm surprised they didn't have a blowout... I think everyone would find that diapers intensify sexual feelings,k and I'm surprised that more people don't use them in their lovemaking.
Keep blogging, when I'm too old to be a model anymore I'll send you some hot pics. Should be about 4, 5 years from now... so don't stop!
Jose
