iPhone Privacy

For all the people who complain about iPhone privacy, I have to say: it certainly works in your favor when it knows to target ads like this. Lol...

Oh yeah, iPhone 6 announcement this week. And Facebook messenger won't take pictures of you in the nude. Not that most of us are worried about that anyway. 🍼

It's Time To Raise Underwareness! Free NYC Concert & More

OMFG this is fucking amazing.

It is an ad campaign to raise awareness. Awareness that some people wear diapers.

Fucking... amazing.

This is like... a gift.

Depend, manufacturer of sub-par adult absorbent undergarments that can barely be called diapers for several decades, has decided to bare all, to raise awareness for the over sixty-five million Americans they say require incontinence products.

They've termed it underwareness.

And, while their advertising campaign isn't targeted at ABDLs, I see no reason why some of those brave enough in our community might not be able to participate.

Their new advertising campaign features Depend employees stripping down to reveal that they are wearing Depend products, instead of underwear. They're featured in a music video, as well.

Another video seems to be an ABDL dream come true - an entire city strips down to diapers. Can you imagine?

And, in a third video, Depend sales strategy analyst Thomas Gore shows off his own diaper, explaining that he's showing his underwear (diaper) for his son, born with a bladder birth defect, and every other child like him.

Again, this ad isn't targeting ABDLs specifically. But from getting to know so many people in this community, I've learned that a large number of us got our ABDL start for one reason: bedwetting, whether for physical/medical or psychological reasons, left us in diapers longer, leading to a lifelong psychological need for them.

Some of us are 24/7. We wear diapers everywhere we go, and in everything we do.

I've been talking about a society where diapers can be worn in place of underwear for years. And while I don't think an adult diaper ad campaign is going to do the trick, it definitely can't hurt.

I imagine they're looking for photos and video of people wearing Depend products, I imagine any old adult diapers will do.

Visit their website to learn how to submit:

And if you submit something, please email it to me at abysitter@gmail.com, I'll feature it here as well!

You can also check out all sorts of diaper pictures there, and register for a free sample of their new undergarment. They're pledging $3 million to raise awareness; read more about that on their website.

Oh, and they're throwing a free concert, as well!

Depend is hosting a free concert
with band Capital Cities
at Pier 97
in New York City
August 7.

Get more information and be registered to meet the band
by RSVPing here

I imagine this is going to be a show-off-your-diaper event,
so be prepared to show off your diaper?

If any of my NYC people attend,
please send me pics!

I wonder what percentage of Americans
experiences a strong desire
to be diapered?

Hmm...

Regardless, I love, love, love
the idea of
RAISING UNDERWARENESS
both for people who wear diapers
out of need,
and people who wear diapers
because traditional underwear suck ass.

Participate in this,
and share with me if you do...

Thanks to Vincent Van Goo for the tip!

Aloha!

Loving the new Huggies Hawaiian diapers! I don't usually feature actual baby diapers on this blog, but these are straight adorable. They combine two of my great loves: diapers, and anything Hawaiian.

I'm sure some AB will stuff his skinny lil behind into these soon. But I won't, so here's hoping one of the ABDL diaper companies pick up this idea soon...

Bambino, ABU... are you listening?

I'm not even sure why...

...but this seems hot to me.

Branding mixed with ABDL diapers? Maybe it'll make them a little cheaper...

This is probably an illustration, but if anyone knows that these diapers exist, hit me up.

Pampers: Worth More Than Facebook - Really.

The sixth annual Millward Brown Optimor Brandz™ survey is out – and the results may surprise you.

From the official website:

Developed by Millward Brown Optimor, the BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands ranking analyzes the world's leading brands and the economic and competitive dynamics that influence value fluctuations. It is the most comprehensive annual ranking of brand value, and focuses on consumer-facing brands, rather than corporate brands.

The Top 15 was probably no surprise to anyone.

The number one brand was Apple, with a brand value of $153 million, up 84% from 2010.

Google was second, down 2% to $111 million.

3: IBM, $100 mil.

4: McDonalds: $81 mil.

5. Microsoft: $78 mil.

6. Coca Cola: $73 mil.

7: AT&T: $69 mil.

8: Marlboro: $67 mil.

9: China Mobile: $57 mil.

10: General Electric: 50 mil.

11: ICBC Asia: $44 mil.

12. Vodaphone: $43 mil.

13. Verizon: $42 mil.

14: Amazon.com: 37 mil.

15. WalMart: $37 mil.

Surprisingly, even with their DryMax scandal in 2010/2011, Pampers was 33rd, up 11% with a brand value of $19.350 mil.

And an even bigger surprise: they beat out Facebook, with a valuation of $19.102 mil.

Since Facebook's value was up 246% since 2010, it's likely that this will be the last year that the brand leader in diapers will beat the brand leader in social networking.

They also beat out ABDL favorite Disney: $17,290 mil.

In a valuation of brand contribution – a brand's emotional attachment on its customers – the following:

1 Möet & Chandon 4,570 5

2 Baidu 22,555 5

3 Skol 4,579 5

4 Hennessy 4,997 5

5 Pampers 19,350 5

6 Louis Vuitton 24,312 5

7 Natura 4,614 5

8 Brahma 1,996 5

9 Hermès 11,917 5

10 Chanel 6,823 5

11 Rolex 5,269 5

12 Guinness 3,446 5

13 Porsche 12,413 5

14 BMW 22,425 5

15 Gucci 7,449 5

Pampers: The BrandZ Top 100 Leaders in Trust and Value:

The results confirm two fundamental findings of the BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands report:

· Brand leaders successfully inspire trust and project value; and

· Brand leaders increasingly appear in fast-growing markets.

Pampers and Amazon are listed three times in this table. While consumers expect products in the childcare category to be highly trustworthy, Pampers consistently exceeds those expectations. Effective use of social media has helped the brand connect with new parents and score high both in Trust (performance over time) and recommendation (recent experience). In the process of driving a revolution in retailing and e-commerce, Amazon has established itself as a highly desired brand.

Funny story... funny ad...

FUNNY STORY

Tonight I got to meet an AB I originally met on MySpace more than two years ago. Colton. He's a dope-ass collegebaby (and recent grad... yay), and cute as hell. The funny thing is, the DAY after he put his diaper pics up on MySpace I told him about the blog; all of his pictures, including some adorable costume party ones. When I asked him about it, he said he just wasn't ready to be "public"... hmmm.

Fast forward to today. Colt admitted that he got scared when he saw the blog! He hadn't seen a diaper website and had NO IDEA how many of us are out here. He also was afraid he'd be the next star of the blog, and he's extremely private.

"I didn't wanna wake up and think of thousands of people jackin to my baby pictures," he said then. Which was ironic, since my blog was getting about 12 daily views back then.

Long story short... visiting Orlando, he got the chance to be diapered, changed, and fed a baby bottle by another person for the first time. And, much to his surprise... no surveillance cameras. He thought I lived in some kind of crazy webcam Pampers-pay-per-view lair. Lol!

FUNNY AD

Wonder if the PR people from the Major Appliance Division has a furry in their midst?

Coming soon... summer travel details.

Come As You Are...

In honor of Gay Days, going on this week in Orlando, FL (and, all of my French blog viewers) I wanted to share a French commercial for McDonalds I thought was dope as hell. I'm on my iPhone, so the link isn't clickable and the picture quality is non-wifi; full day of work, meetings, and dinner/diapering, hehe, but I'll include a clickable link or the actual video as soon as I can get online on my laptop.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBuKuA9nHsw&feature=youtube_gdata

I'm lovin' it. McDonalds has some balls running this commercial. Makes me want to swing in for a McLatte, lol.

Also, in honor of my French readers, a rough translation...

If you can't empathize with this kid you're one of the lucky 90%...

ABDL Goes Mainstream?

Have you caught the Burger King's first commercial of the new decade? It stars stand-up Tom Konkle in the role of a life-time: a big baby.

Commercials are developed by public relations agencies. They involve collaboration between a number of different teammates, and approval at a number of different levels, from the creative department to the client. It's hard to believe that BK would put out something so obviously AB-oriented - initial buzz on the web is "weird" and "offensive", lol - but this is the same ad agency which came out with the offensive "Baby Got Back"/Spongebob Squarepants ad. Maybe the goal is to offend people?

My question is... who in our community works for BK's ad agency?

I don't want to out anyone. The commercial is cute, and it made me laugh. Nice job. And if it in any way has a side-effect of sparking conversation among our friends and loved ones, or making adults regressing seem any more normal or accepted, way to go...

Case Study: Pampers

I stumbled upon a public relations agency's case study for a Pampers advertising campaign today and thought you might find it interesting. Imagine being the person who's responsibility it is to spread the word about Pampers. Dream job?

Case Study: Pampers Golden Sleep, China

Challenge

In 2007, Procter & Gamble's first brief to Shunya International, Porter Novelli's partner agency in China, was to devise and implement an integrated campaign to build "sleep" into Pampers' brand equity, and to boost sales and market share by educating expectant and new mothers about the benefits of longer uninterrupted sleep to their babies' cognitive development.

Data

Pampers had commissioned independent U.S. and Chinese expert clinical research which showed Pampers' competitive superiority in ensuring longer uninterrupted sleep for babies, called 'golden sleep' in China; these new results were available for use in the campaign. Initial research conducted by the agency into young mothers' online habits showed that the majority of Pampers' target market were regular Web users for information, and liked sharing baby hints and tips with their friends.

Insight

The agency's insights process identified that in the often-bewildering life of new mothers, the most profound moment to think about the development of their child is when they are looking at their sleeping baby. This insight led to the development of the core creative platform-to encourage new mothers to photograph their sleeping babies, and upload the pictures to Pampers' Chinese website.

Approach

The campaign's hook was that the sleeping baby photos would be made into a giant photomontage, and the final compelling attraction was a campaign to break the Guinness World Record for the largest photomontage in the world.

The campaign was planned as a combination of three key elements:

Offline media and experiential activities including mass carnivals and in-store campaigns in China's Tier 1 cities
Online recruitment and viral programs including the launch of a Sleep Tracker, allowing parents to monitor their babies' sleeping patterns.
A professional clinical and medical education and endorsement campaign, including an educational documentary shot and made by the agency in the U.S. and China.
Additional viral activities were added halfway through the program when the World Record target was broken by a German company, leaving the Pampers campaign with a new target-to upload more than 80,000 photos!

Success

200,000 baby photos were collected, smashing the Guinness World Record, with 109,000 being used to create a photomontage covering 660 square meters, unveiled in one of Pampers' key retail partners' stores in Shanghai. As a result of the campaign, Pampers' sales volumes grew by 54 percent compared to the previous year, and the brand's market share returned to growth. The campaign attracted more than 100,000 new members to Pampers' Mums Club, increasing the Club's penetration of China's online mothers from 26 percent to 43 percent. P&G has recognized the campaign as setting new global standards for effective integrated communications, and Porter Novelli's agency partner was recognized as 'most creative interactive agency' in the 2008 Market Forum awards organized by China's Marketing and Sales magazine.

Pampers Cruisers: Aidan Edition

I just had to share some original artwork from Aidankid: a bag of Pampers Cruisers - with Aidan on the package. Wow! Haha. How many of us have dreamed of walking into the diaper aisle of the Piggly Wiggly and finding a bag of diapers in our size? Gone are the days of being relegated to the INCONTINENCE aisle... with the new Pampers Cruisers we can shop where many of us feel we truly belong, or at least long to be...

This is, of course, a Photoshopped creation. (I'll let you try to figure out which parts are Photoshopped and which are real). The kid definitely has some talent; hoping he comes up with more along the same lines, but for now this dream-fulfilling package will have to suffice. I know that I, for one, will be thinking of it anytime I "accidentally" pass through the diaper aisle on my way to the geriatric section of the drug store...

Thanks, Aidan!
