Crib Testing WTF?

From Time.com, check out this description of the new crib testing. Damn, they don't play around. But I bet they're not not taking into account all of us big-ass ABDLs sneaking into our littler siblings cribs... eek!

As of Tuesday, it is illegal to sell a crib in the U.S. that does not meet strict new federal safety standards. That includes sales of all secondhand cribs, which are typically found on sites like eBay and Craigslist, as well as the retail sale of any new crib that was manufactured before the new regulations were put in place.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's (CPSC) new safety standards address the major design flaws that have killed or injured so many infants in recent years, including the so-called "drop-side." This design allows the side of the crib to be raised or lowered, letting parents reach into the crib more easily. But the hinges on the movable sides too often break, creating dangerous gaps in which babies can become stuck or strangled.

Drop-side cribs are now banned altogether, but other, sturdier crib models are also being put through the stringent safety tests, which are designed to simulate real-world wear and tear more accurately. The Chicago Tribune's Patricia Callahan reports:

A new battery of tests will better simulate the long life of a crib, finding screws that come loose, mattress supports that separate and slats that break. Each of those hazards can create a deadly gap that babies' bodies can slip through. When their heads get caught, they can hang to death or otherwise suffocate.

The old rules allowed manufacturers to tighten screws between different tests. Under the new rules, the crib has to pass all of the tests without any adjustments along the way. In one test, the crib is pushed repeatedly in eight different directions for a total of 72,000 movements to simulate wear and tear. Separately, a 45-pound weight is dropped on the mattress support 750 times.

The CPSC has also improved at-home assembly instructions to ensure that parents build cribs correctly. Unsound assembly was a contributor to the deaths of many babies, the CPSC found.

The tricky part now will be finding a crib that meets the new standards. The CPSC says that most cribs currently in American homes probably don't meet the new safety requirements and recommends that parents who can afford it buy a new crib that does.

The new safety requirements are being applauded by parents and consumer advocacy groups. The risks of unsound cribs are high: a recent study found that every day 26 babies and toddlers are injured in cribs, playpens and bassinets in the U.S. That amounts to 9,500 injuries per year, a number that does not include the 100 deaths that also occur each year — harms directly related to an item that is supposed to be, above all, safe.

"Cribs are unique among other children's products. Parents expect to be able to place a child in a crib and know when they walk away that child will be safe. We need to hold cribs to much higher safety standards as opposed to baby equipment you are supposed to only use with parental supervision," Gary Smith, director of the Center for Injury Research and Policy at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, told Healthland's Bonnie Rochman in February.

The TSA and You: Wet Diapers

A story from CNN on a Florida passenger being asked to remove her wet diaper so the TSA could check a "suspicious area" - eek!

I can already see the Deeker stories now.

"The TSA agent lay me on the table, baby powder in his hand..."

Baby Pictures: Baby Greggy

I usually go out of my way to avoid drama. In this case, though, I had to make an exception. Up next: baby pictures from Drama267.

Drama267 is really Baby Greggy, 21 years old, a recent college graduate and living in Illinois. He's looking to meet other diaper boys or a daddy, and would love it if y'all would hit him up...

New York Trip

I will be in upstate New York from July 4 until August 12.

If you're counting, that's six weeks!

I'll be looking to meet a select group of people. Most of you already know who you are. Anyone else who lives in, or will be visiting, upstate New York, hit me up in an email.

I'll be in:

Syracuse
Rochester
Elmira
Ithaca
Buffalo
Niagara Falls

I'm also considering an overnight trip to PA, Ohio, and/or Toronto.

I may be looking to do some babysitting, and will definitely be looking to do some photoshoots.

Warning: I'll be traveling light - not a lot of diapers or supplies, since I'll be flying - and I don't plan on spending a ton of dough on hotels, since I'll be traveling so much. I'm hoping to have a few people for an overnight on my boat for diapers-on-the-water shots... and I have some other plans up my sleeve...

If you want to meet up, hit me up in an email: abysitter@gmail.com.

PS - If you associate with idiots who cause diaper drama, or spend a lot of time being negative or pissy on the forums, don't hit me up. Thanks!

Hall of Shame: WTF

Same story, different day; a Toronto Sun article on yesterday's diaper fetish story with a slightly different take.

Sorry if it's the mobile version, I'm filing this from my iPhone.

Hall of Shame: This Is Why You Don't Fuck With 15

Here's a story from Ottawa about a 15 year-old child with a diaper fetish - and an encounter in a men's room toilet stall.

This is a story about why adults and kids don't mix - even when the child is buying the diapers.

Whether you're 15 or 50, this should be a learning experience.

There's a lot in this story we don't know, primarily because the child in question, who was 15 when the encounter took place, may have been the victim of a sexual assault.

And so I'll leave it at that. Read on...

My Kind Of Protest...

Protesters in Spain protesting the financial crisis.

Who's down for protesting Orlando's financial crisis? I've got the diapers! ;)

Read about it here.

International Readers: I Want To Hear From You!

Abysitter.com is nearing 80,000 views. It's averaging 150/day now, and they're coming from all across the world. While the vast majority of you still come from the United States, I have a few tools which allow me to see other countries you visit from, and I'm always amazed.

The top ten countries via pageviews (non unique views):

107,210 United States - every state!
10,456 Canada
9,366 United Kingdom
8,912 France
8,089 Germany
1,698 Spain
1,311 Netherlands
1,291 Australia
990 Japan
985 Sweden

However, I've gotten views and emails from across the world.

I'm shouting out some of my international readers today:

Mexico - many cities
Cordoba, Argentina
Pretoria, South Africa
Cape Town, South Africa
Trinidad and Tobago
Porto Velho, Brazil
Rio, Brazil

Tel Aviv, Israel
Egypt
Algeria
Ridyah, Saudi Arabia
Bahrain
United Arab Emirates
Abu Dhabi, Dubai

I've even had viewers from both Iraq and Afghanistan. I always wonder if Iraqi and Afghan babies are checking out my page, or if it's U.S. or International Coalition soldiers peeping Abysitter.com from military computers. Eek! Either way, I'd travel to either country to bring some of my sitting services, if needed. ;)

But let's continue to Europe...

France
Spain
United Kingdom: England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales
Netherlands
Denmark
Luxembourg
Germany
Sweden
Slovenia
Austria
Hungary
Czech Republic
Serbia
Albania
Greece - many in Greece

Some of these are Eastern European, bordering on Russia. Which reminds me... I've heard from babies from Moscow and Romania. Both wrote me and didn't write back after I responded... hoping to hear from them again...

Let's not forget...

Australia (Sydney, Cairns, and several other cities)
South Korea
Indonesia
Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Taipei, Taiwan
Japan - many, many cities!
Singapore

I even had a viewer in Beijing once. I thought that was impossible, since Google is apparently blocked in China, but it appears someone somehow got through to Blogger.

I think that my blog has picked up amongst international viewers since the toolbar was added. This means that my international friends are able to click on the toolbar at the bottom (when visiting from a PC) and translate this blog into many languages. I also have translated some of my posts, as well. And I have someone who will be translating my upcoming AB/DL guide a little more officially into French... always looking for other languages...

I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!!

If you are from any of the countries above, or from any international countries not listed here, please email me at abysitter@gmail.com.

I definitely want to hear from all of you!

I want to hear what your experiences have been like as ABDLs living in another part of the world.

I want to know more about your 'coming out' as an ABDL - if you have. I'd like to know about the scene... availability of diapers... and about diaper sites.

I'll be putting together a blog entry, or series, this summer. If you are from any country except the United States, and have something to add - or want to contribute pictures so I can get a good cross-section of what ABDLs look like around the world... hit me up!

1,000,000 Cribs About To Be Destroyed...

The new crib standards go into effect June 28th: bye bye drop-side cribs we all grew up with!

That means one million drop-side cribs yet to be sold must be destroyed.

http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/only-new-safer-cribs-will-be-available-for-consumer-purchase-on-june-28-2011-124101099.html

Probably about to be some AMAZING deals on cribs...

Diaperfur: Dark-Paws

[CWIS'S NOTE]: I've been trying to entice diaperfurs to send me pictures, stories, and artwork for a while. While a 'fringe' part of the ABDL world, diaperfurs and abies/DLs have a lot in common. Primarily, of course: a love for diapers.

You've seen artwork from Tyler. And coming soon... artwork from a new artists. Today we have some photos from someone new. Next up: Dark-Paws.

Heat + Wet Diaper = Wah!!

This isn't a long story or anything, but I thought I would share.

I have lunch plans with a friend this afternoon. We are going to Subway.

So anyway. He sent me a text message that made me think that he was going to cancel. So, like an idiot, I decided to just chill at home in the air conditioning without double-checking what his text meant. I was sucking on a popsicle, watching planes fly over, in just a diaper, laying in the sun. Awesome, right?

So I decided to soak my Pamper. And man, did I ever. I lay there for about a minute, letting the sun warm up the wetness.

iPhone: <DING! DING!>

Just then my friend texts me to let me know he is actually on his way to where we were supposed to meet.

So I decide to pull a pair of shorts on over my diaper and just go.

Huge mistake! Guess who didn't bother with the baby powder today?

It is 98° out, almost record high temperatures for Orlando, and I am sitting in my car in a soaking wet diaper.

WTF!

I feel the onset of diaper rash coming on. I seriously don't know how babies do it, and I think I will take pity on the next crying baby that I see. This sucks!!!

Just thought I'd share. Misery loves company...

In The News: Cheerleader Hazing

I know this blog tends to be diaperboy-centric, but here's a funny write-up on an incident of diaper hazing:

Cheerleaders Suspended For Squirt Gun, Hot Dog, And Diaper Hazing Ritual

http://www.dreamindemon.com/2011/05/28/cheerleaders-suspended-for-squirt-gun-hot-dog-and-diaper-hazing-ritual/

Hall of Shame: BabyTodd

Oh, here's who's next...

It's BabyTodd.

If you don't know BabyTodd, he's an alleged diaper fetishist who's fond of recruiting amateur pornsters via Internet chats. He finds them, suggests Internet porn involving diapers and underpants, and has people recreate scenes with children as young as five.

He even sends out the cameras and underpants.

BabyTodd is somewhat well-known because of a search that happened a few years ago. In the search the FBI busted down the door of a family after they found child pornography being streamed on their wifi. Turns out BabyTodd lived down the street, and was just stealing their Internet. Sigh...

One of these guys is alleged to be BabyTodd. The other is alleged to be the child pornographer. They're both jailed...

Rule # 4: Pictures of people over 18 in diapers = ok. Pictures of people under 18 in diapers = ok only in diaper ads. Don't create, possess, or transmit these types of images. And, for the love of God, don't diaper children.

From the Milford Daily News:

http://www.milforddailynews.com/topstories/x1125485929/Prosecutors-Milford-man-suggested-ways-to-make-child-porn?mobRedir=false

And the press release for the Arizona Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force:

http://www.azicac.org/content.php?section=arrests&info_id=60

Hall of Shame: Gone National

AOL... Huffington Post... who knows where next...

Remember, y'all: what one of us does has an effect on ALL of us. As a community.

RULE # 1: No more tricking unsuspecting rubes into changing our diapers.

RULE # 2: If you're under 18, keep it within 1-3 years of your own age. If you're over 18, keep it OVER 18!

RULE # 3: Diaper discipline is hawt. Until you involve actual children. Don't do it.

I'll add more rules as we go along.

Who's next???

ALERT! Facial Recognition on Facebook

Facial recognition technology was quietly turned on this week over at Facebook.

It is the default option, which means you have to OPT OUT if you don't want to be 'taggable' in photos.

On the surface this feature is supposed to be a convenience; it makes it easy for your friends to 'tag' you in photos.

Read, however, what one tech expert expects will be the next step in this technology:

"Facial recognition technology will ultimately culminate in the ability to search for people using just a picture. And that will be the end of privacy as we know it--imagine, a world in which someone can simply take a photo of you on the street, in a crowd, or with a telephoto lens, and discover everything about you on the internet."

What does this mean for us diaperboys (and girls) you ask?

Right now, nothing.

But it could, one day, give people the ability to upload a photo of an adorable diaperboy who's been courageous enough to show his face, and learn more about his actual identity.

That's probably a long way off.

But, please... if you are concerned about your privacy... go OPT OUT.

Instructions are posted:

Here's how to turn off Facebook's new Facial Recognition feature:

  • When logged in, go to "Account" and click on "Privacy Settings."

  • Click on "Customize settings."

  • Scroll down to "Things others share."

  • Next to the third item, "Suggest photos of me to friends," click on "Edit Settings."

  • Change it from "Enabled" to "Disabled" and Facial Recognition will be turned off.

I'll keep you posted.

Hall of Shame: Trickster!

Meet Eric Carrier, 23, of New Hampshire. Eric is accused of placing an ad on Craigslist for a home health nurse and, when one came, pretending to be brain damaged so she would change his diaper.

Eric turned himself into police today.

Read the article. And if you're looking for that diaper change experience... don't trick people.

Baby Pictures: BBJoey

Next up, something for all of you who insist that my pictures are exclusively of young, attractive collegebabies (or college age babies): some pictures of BBJoey, a throwback to a previous generation.

BBJoey was a baby in the 1950s. Pampers weren't invented until 1961, which means he missed out. Yet he was making diapers look cool before the internet was even invented. In his own words:

My name is bbjoey,
I have been a AB for as long as I can remember, I wear diapers 24/7.

I grew up in the 50's, was a bed wetter. My granny told my mom that if I wet the bed or my pants one more time I was going back into diapers. I grew up in diapers, doctors couldn't find anything wrong with me, they tried everything. I was sent to school in cloth diapers and plastic pants. My granny and the school nurse were friends, so she had the nurse change me, the nurse even babysat me. Treated me like I was a baby from age 5 onward.

I make my own overalls/short all outfits, sew on my own patches I get off of real baby outfits, that I buy in second hand stores. I love getting dressed up as a toddler and go out in the public dressed in my baby elmo bib overalls, matching elmo hightop tennis shoes, sucking on my binky, diapered of course. Or wearing my fire trucks diaper outfit with disposable CUSHIES from AB-Universe underneath, snaps in the crotch in everything I have.

I have a lot of respect for older-generation ABDLs. Imagine being a part of this fetish but never meeting anyone else into it - or even finding out that anyone else was into it? Imagine not even knowing it was a fetish? These guys lived that: diapered isolation. For decades. The internet came along in the 1990s. Picture BBJoey living the diapered lifestyle solo in the 1950s; 1960s; 1970s; and 1980s?

Props to you, BBJoey, and all ABDLs who came along with you. Thanks for the pictures...
