As some of you know, I discovered Dry 24/7 diapers last year. These diapers, from
DryCare, are amazing. They are thick, super-absorbent - there
is no more absorbent diaper available, as far as I can tell - and plain white, making them as close to the old-style Pampers of my generation as I can find. I'd discovered Duck-brand duct tape with colorful designs soon after, and together my Dry 24/7 diapers plus the 'diaper tapes' made for a babyish diaper. I got used to wearing around town, spending an entire day in one diaper, wetting multiple times, and never leaking. After a while I started feeling like I
needed to be in these diapers... outside of work, I have been wearing them 24/7.
Suddenly, the company that makes them stopped. Just like that.
There were rumors about a supplier change, a factory upgrade, and other things. There were hints that they'd be returning in June. But they were unavailable.
I had been buying these diapers by the case - a big box of 64 diapers, I believe, or maybe even more. They aren't cheap, but they are so worth it. So as I got to my last bag, I went online to order. WTF! SOLD OUT! I panicked a little - and kicked myself, because I almost ordered them a full month earlier, but had family in town, and didn't want a huge case of diapers waiting for me if I brought them back to my place, so I didn't. I could have ordered a case and had it already. If I'd known that they were selling out, I would have ordered multiple cases and just stockpiled these motherfuckers like a crazy old WWII vet stockpiles soap. But... I didn't know. And I didn't order. I was screwed.
When I contacted the company directly, I never got a reply. (They
had replied to emails previously, concerning orders and things like
that). XPMedical posted that they thought that the Dry 24/7's would be returning - better than ever - in June. That's two whole months! Holy shit.
So I used them sparingly, and even recycled a bit. Eww.
I began to try to find a comparable diaper. I asked around - some of you responded to my post here, and my tweets. I got a few good recommendations and ordered some sample packs. I was sorely disappointed with a few of those that I tried. The Abena X-Plus, which a few years before I'd loved, seemed weak in comparison. And the blue lines, while sexy as fuck in pictures online, were visible thorugh my favorite pair of diaper shorts. I also tried the Bellissimos. These were babyish and soft, but they didn't give me that perfect fit like the Dry 24/7's do. I set them aside for some future friend diapering hehehe...
I was still looking into alternatives when one of my ABDL friends texted me. He had two whole cases of the Dry 24/7's, including six bags of the big white ones and two bags of the small blue ones. He was willing to ship them out right away! It turns out that he is moving into a place where cases of diapers just won't fit, and he wanted to find them a good home; we'd agree on a fair price later.
He's been an awesome friend through the years, and is one of the people who I regularly iMessage with. You've seen his pics here in the past, but he wanted to remain anonymous - probably doesn't want his generosity to get out for fear of a deluge of requests from other Dry 24/7 lovers. But his adorable ass saved me, and as I'm typing this I am once again wearing the diaper that I feel at home in.
I wanted to hug him. I've already wanted to babysit him since forever, but now... he gets that free session. (Well, they're all free haha). But I'm even more determined now to get him to Orlando or visit his city the next time I'm up north.
TO MY LITTLE ANONYMOUS FRIEND... THANK YOU! You rock.
And to DryCare... get it together and get me an update! This case won't last forever, and I don't want to go through this again this summer...
PS - My friend has a bunch of other diapers from a variety of companies. We may sell some 3-packs or 5-packs, with any proceeds going to fund future contests (since the last one cost me $200 + when all was said and done). So, just in case, watch this space...
