When did you first realize you were ABDL?
I was probably 6-7 years old. My neighbor and I were friends, and her sister was a few years younger and still in diapers. I decided to take one of her diapers and put it on, wore it for a bit, used it, made me feel super safe and secure, less anxious that I would have to pee and couldn’t find a bathroom (More on this later).
What steps did you take to get your diaper 'fix' as a child and/or teen?
Well, initially, when my neighbor’s sister stopped wearing diapers I didn’t really have a “Source”. So there was probably a 2-3 year lapse between when I initially wore a few times and really started getting into it. My younger brother wet the bed, so once Goodnites came out and he started getting them I would wear his (Sometimes with him as a sort of “Solidarity” thing). Eventually as he got older and more social, the idea of wearing diapers didn’t really appeal to him, so he preferred to just not wear them, and risk having accidents. After this happened I was again without a source of diapers. I was probably 14 at the time. I can recall a few times when I had money and a way to get to a store buying my own Goodnites, making diapers a few times at home with trash bags, paper towels, real towels, maxi pads, etc. I actually ordered some diapers online at one point using one of my parents credit cards, which they obviously weren’t a fan of.
Do your parents and/or siblings know about you and diapers? If so, please explain how, and how they reacted?
Yea, so rather than continue above I’ll explain here. My parents both found out when I was 14-15 and ordered diapers using one of their credit cards and they checked the statement. They were both pretty confused, but honestly more upset that I had taken their credit card than about the diapers. I had come out as gay around the same time, so I think they just chalked it up to something I would grow out of. I’d say a few months later, I printed out one of the TBDL guides from the internet and left it on the kitchen counter one night for my mom to find the next morning along with a letter. I explained TBDL a bit, what it was, and asked her if she would buy me diapers. I was always a pretty good kid. I think she understood that there were way worse things I could be into, and diapers aren’t exactly dangerous. She bought me goodnites a few times over the years, usually I’d leave her a note or something for her to find in the morning, and she’d buy them with a sigh and an eyeroll. I think the last time either of my parents actively KNEW anything about my ABDL life was back when I left for college. I used to keep diapers in a suitcase in my closet, and when I moved out my mom was helping move some stuff into boxes and casually asked me what I wanted to do with my “Stuff”. It was embarrassing, but i’ve always had a good relationship with my parents, so I was lucky in that respect.
Have you dealt with the shame and regret that is the binge/purge cycle? Please explain.
I’ve never really faced the purge aspect. I’ve definitely noticed that over the years my INTEREST in wearing has changed, but also my acceptance has. When I was younger, I definitely swung more to the DL side of the spectrum. Diapers were a sexual release. I grew up reading stories on the various sites back in the day (Deekers Diaper page + Whatever else there was), which was obviously great and definitely helped me feel more normal. I think the “Shame” part of it comes from a lot of DL’s that wear super casually and feel terrible after they have their sexual release and immediately want to take the diaper off, feeling that they did something naughty. I definitely used to experience this when I seldom wore, but that feeling waned pretty quickly once I started wearing more regularly. It became more about comfort and anxiety reduction than sexual.
For collegebabies/DLs, did this interest affect your college experiences? If so, how?
It’s been a few years since I graduated from college, but I didn’t wear much in college. I was dating my (Now husband) all through college, and he didn’t know until the tail end of college, so I tended to wear mostly when he wasn’t around. I finally told him and did start wearing more toward the end of college, but I wish I had worn more. I’ve always had an overactive bladder since I was a kid, and school was brutal for me. I had constant anxiety about having to pee in situations where bathrooms weren’t readily accessible (Or I was in the middle of a test/lecture, etc).
Initially it didn’t really affect my dating life because I kept it secret. I told my long time partner about 3-4 years into our relationship. He took it… ok. He was initially pretty confused, but I showed him some resources and explained more and he sort of got it. We’ve been together for over 10 years now, and he still doesn’t fully understand why I like it, but does get the comfort and anxiety reduction from OAB. Socially, I haven’t really told anyone else other than ABDL friends obviously. Last year 2 of my close friends found out. Instagram is terrible, I highly recommend anyone looking to keep this private get off of it with anything ABDL related. Basically Instagram matched my ABDL profile to my vanilla FB page since I had both apps on my phone. They were completely disconnected. Fake name, fake e-mail, fake TN, but FB owns instagram, and doesn’t care about privacy, so they still blasted all my FB friends with an “Invite” to check out my “New Instagram Page”. Luckily it was private, so nobody saw anything, except for my close friend who did some sleuthing and did a Tumblr search for my username, which was the same. They made a big deal about it, but did do some research beforehand to sort of understand it. We had a conversation about it and I explained that I wore for OAB, but found the ABDL community comforting, because it made me feel more normal. We’re still friends and it hasn’t come up again. I still wear around them constantly.
Some experts believe that we become the way we are because of traumas experienced at an early age, including abuse and/or neglect. Do your life experiences bear this out?
I can’t say I’ve ever experienced any trauma or abuse that might have been a stimulus for this behavior.
What % of your sexual activities and/or masturbation incorporate diapers? Has this caused problems for you?
Since I wear 24/7 a lot of my individual sexual activities take place in diapers. I can’t say that diapers are super sexual for me though (Any more than say cute undies on a cute guy). With my partner there are no diapers involved.
If you get into the regression aspect of ABDL please tell us more about that. If you do not, and you have feelings about being lumped into a fetish involving it, explain how it makes you feel.
I’m not really into regression. If I had an AB side it would be as a “Middle” a 14-16 year old teen with OAB and bedwetting issues coming to terms with his situation and trying to make new friends that also share an interest in diapers/have similar issues. I can’t say this is really something I’ve explored with other people though. More just my own personal “fantasy”.
