DiaperBoy225 had considered sharing his pics with us for some time, and had put face pics up on diaper profiles and removed them more than once, concerned that he'd get found out. He decided it was time...

My Views on My 'Views'...

BY THE NUMBERS...

When I started my blog on November 28, 2008 there were very few ABDL blogs on the Internet. I started mine to little fanfare; I posted the link in a few profiles and forums but, for the first few months I had a very small number of readers; some days I would get 1-2 viewers in a 24-hour period.

Over time, of course, the word got out. More and more people started reading Abysitter.com, following my posts - some regularly. People started contributing diaper photos, baby pictures, and true stories. On October 29, 2010 my blog reached 50,000 views - a milestone for any blogger.

On that day I added a second counter to the blog, the one you see to the right. It's Blogger's counter, and at that time it read 62,000 views. The counter at the right counts views each time someone comes to any page on my blog. The counter at the bottom counts unique views; you can look at 100 different pages here but it will count a viewer no more than once in a 24-hour period.

The counter at the bottom, then, is a more 'accurate' representation of this blog's average daily views. Add +300 to get the actual number of viewers we've had since we started in 2008.

Since October 29 the blog has had 20,000 non-unique views, an average of 250 per day.

Since October 29 the blog has had 6,531 unique views, an average of 81 per day. This number varies widely, based on my posts and promotion on Twitter and other websites; it's been as high as 400 in one day several weeks ago, and can be as low as 50 after a period of days with no new posts.

This means, among other things, that my viewers typically read not only the first page of the blog, but also click on two other pages on the blog.

A recent survey I posted gave a better view of my blog's actual demographics. The survey itself had 60 responses in the first 24 hours, and has had nearly 100 total in one week. It revealed that my viewers are predominately male, 75% are under 30 and nearly half college-aged, with 54% identifying themselves as AB and 31% as DL. The vast majority of my viewers are gay or bi. Most have at least one other fetish, including spanking (more than 50%) and pup play, among others.

61% of my viewers state that they visit the blog once a week or less. If this is true, it implies that my daily view average - around 80 - includes approximately 50 people who view weekly. Stretching the numbers, it suggests that I have at least 350 weekly viewers, in addition to a core group of 30 "regulars" - people who view the blog on a daily or almost-daily basis.

AD SPACE IN THE FUTURE?

These numbers aren't scientific, and true number crunchers may analyze them a different way. They're not important to most of my readers, but they're important to me as a blogger; they're also important because I'm considering offering advertising space on the blog, and need to have some idea of analytics before I do so.

I've resisted using Google ads because they're annoying and, often, irrelevant. Still, there's no question that they generate revenue. Diapers and assorted gear are expensive, and it would be nice if something I work so hard on might make me a few diaper dollars...

While I won't be resorting to Google ads just yet, I may send out an email to several ABDL-related companies offering ad space at some point in the future. If anyone has experience with this (companies, rates) please contact me at abysitter@gmail.com.

I'd considered offering ad space for a while, but the survey results made me realize that I really do have a core group of regular, loyal readers/viewers/fans.

On January 9th I posted a survey and invited readers of my blog to take it. In a period of twenty-four hours, sixty of you did. I posted my analysis of the results twenty-four hours later. Since that time, nearly thirty more people have taken the survey! Today I will post the results of the second half of the survey, Part II.

Favorite Brand of Diaper

Probably most surprising in this category is the one of you who doesn't wear diapers. I'm assuming that answer was given by someone who falls into the 'daddy' category - I hope. Hopefully nobody got all the way through this survey without realizing it was something they had no interest in?

Many of you are AB, and incorporate other types of baby clothing into your activities. I asked you to tell me what you like, and you did...

• 64% of you like footed sleepers. Are you listening, Aidan?
• 58% of you like onesies.
• 41% of you like plastic pants.
• 38% of you like cartoon kid-like briefs; 37% of you like white briefs.
• 16% of you like training pants (Pull-Ups)
• 14% of you like cloth diapers.
• 18% of you like bondagewear or other fetish wear, i.e. rubber.

It was surprising to me that 41% of you like plastic pants, yet only 1% of you like rubber pants. They're almost the same thing! I remember a survey I took when I was 19, a DPF.com survey that asked some of the same questions that mine does. The results were split: 50% liked plastic pants, and 50% liked rubber pants. Today nobody even knows what rubber pants are haha. Pampers has ruined it for all of the rubber pants lovers.

In the 'other' category for this question I saw jammies and shortalls several times, as well as puppy gear and collars.

Please give us more from...

I asked which blog contributors you would like to see more from. This was to help me determine what I'm posting that you like, so I can post more of it. I realize that this question is completely subjective based on who is taking the survey, since I've never posted a single pic or article that people haven't asked for more of. Still, your answers...

Stars of the Community...

I asked you to tell me who, in your minds, the 'stars' of our community are.

I realize we don't have actual 'stars' but... we do have personalities. I chose the word 'star' because a good AB/DL friend used to use it, and it pretty much sums up what I was looking for: the people in this community who have become recognizable to us by only their screen names.

I was trying to determine who you'd like to see on this blog, so I could reach out to those ABDL's my blog readers are fans of and ask them to consider contributing.

Imagine my surprise when a large number of you said... Cwis.

Seriously, I was looking for the 'hot list' of our lifestyle/fetish. I didn't expect you to choose someone based on a blog, or a personality... I expected that you would choose the hottest guys and send them along. So I was flattered that so many of you, including a few of you who I recognize from your screen names, listed me here. I think that, more than anything else I took away from this survey, I learned that some of you are really big fans of this blog. That'll make it a lot easier in those weeks that I've posted ten entries and received zero comments and I start to wonder if anyone even reads the shit I write, or if it's just people scanning these pages for pictures for their masturbatory pleasure.

I wasn't surprised by most of the answers (although I'm not sure which Baby Matt we're talking about... someone email me the link?) but I was surprised to see a few names not included. Still, only 20% of you answered this question, and I'm sure if 100% of you had I would have seen a bunch of other interesting names - and, I expect, those above a whole bunch more times.

My next survey may get more into who you like and why... hope y'all take that one, too... :P

To Recap...

Since the answers have changed a bit since I posted the results from the beginning of the survey, I'll spell it out for you again. As of January 15th at 6 a.m. - less than six days ago - 87 of you have taken the time to complete my survey.

You came from across the US and Canada, UK, Ireland, France, Sweden (or Norway? I get those mixed up, sorry), Germany, South Africa, and a lot of places that you didn't specify. Quite a few of you came from states I wouldn't have thought had a large ABDL population, like a bunch from Iowa and Kansas. Quite a few of you (at least nine, actually) came from Orlando, FL.

96% of you were male.

44% of you were college aged. Only 23% of you were over 30. None of you were under 18 or older than 65.

62% of you are gay. 17% are bi. Only 19% are straight. 1% is asexual.

58% of you were adult baby or college baby. 31% of you are primarily DLs. 4% of you are furries. One of you is a daddy. However, 67% of you consider yourselves to be toddlers, and 65% to be diaper lovers, when the answers are expanded to include everything you get into. 25% of you enjoy spending time in the 'daddy' role, 14% exploring your furry side, 13% get into pup play, and 12% enjoy acting sissy.

There were still no mommies. Sigh...

Your interests vary widely. But as someone who sometimes gets into spanking, and finds it difficult to located diaper boys into being Pampered and paddled, I was encouraged to learn that 68% of you are into diaper discipline, and 60% into spanking - a full 50 of you. Hit me up! LOL. 35% are into wet, 19% are into messy, 41% are into underwear, Speedos or briefs - me too! - and 29% are into puppy play. In the 'other' category, a bunch of you are into shaving (hot!) and I also saw humiliation, PVC, latex, edging, bondage, and more.

And probably no surprise, a full 75% of you are into ageplay, roleplay, baby play.

16% of you visit the blog daily. (I owe you 14 an apology for the lack of posts for days at a time - eek!) 24% visit a few times a week, 22% weekly, which means 62% of you visit once a week or more. That means that 38% of you don't - shame!, lol - including 10% of you who have never visited before taking this survey. Hmm...

A whopping 45% of you consider my stories, and the stories of contributors, to be your favorite part of this blog. [DO YOU HEAR THAT??? STORIES! SO IF YOU HAVE REAL STORIES, 18+ OF COURSE, EMAIL ME: abysitter@gmail.com!!!] 28% of you prefer baby pictures [ALSO TAKING 18+ BABY PICTURE SUBMISSIONS, BY THE WAY] and 16% prefer diaper pictures [DON'T MAKE ME SAY IT AGAIN!] Only 3% of you prefer my commentary, which means I should probably shut up now... =P

84% of you have accounts with RUPadded. This was also the answer nearly 100% of the time for people who chose to include their 'favorite ABDL website'. 51% of you still consider the now-defunct Aby.com your diaper home. Only 11% of you stuck with the one-time leader DPF.com. DiaperSpace got 51% and some insults, DL-Boy got 41%, and DailyDiapers took 31%. All others were under 30%; you can see the entire breakdown at the results page - link below. Someone even said Abysitter.com, and I had to go back to make sure it wasn't me. Whoever you are... thanks!

When it comes to blogs, the vast majority of you are huge fans of this one, and some of you don't read any others. (Loyalty! Ha!) Part I

On January 9th I posted a survey and invited readers of my blog to take it. In a period of twenty-four hours, sixty of you did. I was overwhelmed and, I must say, pretty pleased. My blog gets 100, 150, 200 viewers a day, but sometimes days will go by between comments or messages. I was expecting a dozen or so respondents. Sixty? You guys rock.

And I say guys because, among the other things I learned, I learned that my blog is a virtual sausagefest. Which shouldn't be a surprise. But 96% male?

Below are the details of what I've learned. If you haven't taken the survey yet, please do. I'll be posting a link to it in the right side of my blog and, over time, I'll be developing more surveys. Thanks for taking this one... and hope you continue to take them!

Gender

My blog is primarily male, as I mentioned above: 96% male, 4% female.

Age

I'd always pictured my readership as being a mixture of older guys and middle-aged guys, with some younger guys thrown in. I was suprised to learn that, at least among respondents to the survey, my blog viewers tend to be on the young side! Nearly 50% of my readers are college aged, and three-quarters are under age 30.

Username

I was hoping that people would include usernames so I could figure out who was reading my blog. Fifteen people did, and I know two little Canuckistanians well enough to know them by their answers.

Primary AB/DL Classification

36% of my readers consider themselves primarily adult babies, and 18% teenbabies or collegebabies, totaling 54% on the AB side of the fetish. 31% consider themselves primarily DLs, 8% furries,1% pups, and 3% "none of these". There were no daddies, mommies, or sitters responding to my survey.

Secondary AB/DL Classification

I asked respondents to list all of the roles that they plan in this fetish/lifestyle. They broke down as follows:

Sexuality

The majority of my respondents were gay: 63%, or 18 of 60 respondents. An equal amount were bi (18%, or 11 respondents) and straight (18%, or 11 respondents.)

Location

I asked respondents to enter their location, and most did. I found that a number of my blog readers hail from a number of centralized location, including Orlando (6), Ontario (6), the state of Iowa (3), the state of Washington (3), and the state of Kansas (3). In addition, I had readers from New Hampshire, Vancouver, Ottowa, Washington, DC, Philadelphia, Texas, California, Colorado, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, and Arizona. In addition, respondents came from Australia, Germany, Ireland, France, and the UK.

Regularity

I was surprised to learn that more than one-half of my blog readers visit the blog once a week or less. I typically get 100 viewers per day minimum, and I've had 150, 200, and over 500 on certain days. I always wonder if it's the same 100 people who come every day, or if my blog is really growing. Turns out at least fifty of the people who visit my blog each day only come by once a week; making the math work for me, that means that a minimum of 350 people view my blog every week, and the other 350 on a daily basis. That's a lot of readers!

20% of my viewers, on the other hand, visit the blog on a daily basis; another 18% come to the view the blog several times each week. Yay for loyalty! And, surprisingly, 10% of the respondents were viewing the blog for the first time.

An Open Letter to "Collegebaby Chad"

CHRIS'S NOTE: Last week I got an email from a college baby. It was very long, and very personal. I didn't reply immediately, and by the time I did - taking the time to write a really well thought-out reply that I thought would be helpful - the person who emailed me had deleted his email account. It bounced back and I felt sick to my stomach thinking someone had hoped I'd hit him back with some help only to be ignored.

I know that we sometimes have 'diaper guilt', especially in college, though; for that reason I am going to print my reply here. I hope that the person who wrote me is a regular reader of my blog, as he stated in his email, and sees this year.

NOTE TO CHAD: Email me, or text me, if/when you read this.

First of all, I want to thank you for taking the time to email me. I'm not sure if you deleted your email account for a reason unrelated to your email message to me; I certainly hope you didn't do anything stupid, and that you are still reading my blog. At the very least I'll hope that, if you are taking a break from diapers, you'll come back to it. And see my blog. And see this entry. And get back in touch.

I feel guilty, now, for taking a couple of days to get back to you. After I re-read your email tonight, when mine to you bounced back, I saw it a different way, with a little bit more urgency to its tone. I should have replied right away, if only to let you know that I'd be waiting until I got home to get on the PC, but I did not. I hope you didn't misconstrue that as my ignoring you, because that is not the case at all.

I know something about being depressed in college. In fact, you have no idea how much I know about it. And I have to say, because I remember it as if it was yesterday, it means that much more that you would write to me seeking help.

If someone had told my depressed diaper-wearing ass when I was eighteen years old that a college kid would be writing to me a bunch of years down the road because he saw me as someone he could turn to, I would've laughed. First because, at times, I would've thought that I wouldn't make it years down the road. Second, I wouldn't have thought I'd ever meet someone else into diapers. Things were pretty bleak back then, so considering the difference between my freshman year and yours makes me appreciate some things in my own life. Thank you for that.

I understand the kind of feelings that you are experiencing. I used to drive to a mall, Pamp up in the parking lot, and just drive around in diapers to get my 'fix', so what you've told me doesn't sound strange to me at all. I'd get so irritated because my roommate freshman year didn't go to class when he was supposed to; I'd be all ready to get that hour of toddler time in and he'd make up some lame excuse to stay in bed. Sometimes it almost felt like he was doing it on purpose, just to keep me 18 - crazy, of course, since he couldn't have known.

I learned quickly, though, Chad. I got a post office box and had diaper samples sent to it. Today you can order a whole case that way. And, sophomore year, I moved off campus to my own place. I realized that my diaper habits made getting a college roommate troublesome at best, so I managed without one.

But I was still depressed. I had a ton of friends, dude, but sometimes I felt like it was me and me alone. At night I'd sit on my balcony and realize how alone I felt and, believe me, there were times I didn't want to go back inside. I realize now, of course, that anything else would have been stupid. When I was young, though, it was different. It was like every day seemed so fucking important, and if it didn't go well - or, worse, if it did go well but I still felt depressed anyway - I thought: wow, Chris, your life is really worth shit. What's the point?

If you had met me at age 18, 19, 20, 21 you would have no idea that anything was wrong. I had a great life, full of friends and fun. It's this damn fucking fetish that made me miserable. Every night I'd diaper up and wish I didn't have to. I'd jerk off in a diaper and be pissed at myself for doing it. Because, as normal as it seemed in high school, and as normal as it seems now, in college life is all about socializing and dating. When you're looking for that dream dude, or dream girl, and you meet someone who might be him or her, you're filled with this sense of doom: at some point I'm going to have to tell them about diapers, or quit. Neither seems particularly appealing. And I remember so well not wanting to even bother meeting anyone because of it...

I often joke with my ABDL friends about wishing that a time machine existed. If one did, I say, I would go back to age two, and relive the whole experience all over again. I'd be in heaven. I'd appreciate everything more. And, when I got old enough to go back into the time machine, I'd do it all over again. Not that I don't want to be older than two, because often I do. But... often, I don't. And if I could go back...

But I'd also set it for age 17.

I remember, to this day, the way I felt the day after prom. We were having an after-prom party at a friend's cabin on the lake. I think I kissed a girl, and I believe that I tried to swim way too far for everyone else's comfort, and scared people. I kind of remember those things. What I remember, clear as day, is knowing that my life was about to change. And being scared and apprehensive about what it meant for me.

If I could go back to that day, that's where I'd start over (save for being a baby). And I'd do things differently. Way differently.

I'd meet more people; I'd just walk up into crowds of people I didn't feel comfortable meeting and say "here the fuck I am, and my name is Cwis." I'd take chances that I didn't take. I'd take a job or two that I turned down. And I'd look for more friends in the diaper community at an earlier age...

I envy you, Chad. When I was 18 there was barely an internet, and diaper sites weren't in existence yet. You have your choice of more than a dozen of them, with thousands of ABDLs on the web. Sure, it's true that you chose to go to school in the middle of nowhere, and that you can't find anyone in your area right now, but dude... you have three more years to go and then you're free to relocate to anywhere. In the world. And there are some diaper hotspots out there just waiting for you to move in and transform them.

You made a choice to go to college where you're going, and from what you said in your email it's the right choice for you. So don't regret it. Work your diapered (or, in your case, not-diapered-enough) ass off and get that 4.0. Go out, get a good job, and start saving. Buy a house, put in a nursery, and never look back.

I wish I could be 18 again, bro.

I envy you. You are a lucky little dude, even if right now you don't see it.

It's funny that you say that you're jealous of me. My blog paints a rosy picture of my life, eh? Filled with diapering hot boys, and fun-filled days of ageplay, etc., right? The reality is much different. I've diapered a ton of guys, but what you're seeing is nearly two decades of diapering rolled up into one neat little package. So to think that I don't have periods where I'd like things to be different, even now... you have no idea. There are a lot of ABDL guys I'd still like to meet, and a lot I'd like to diaper. And, more importantly, I'd like to have a positive effect on the community even more than I have.

(Plus, to be straight up, I still like to be the baby sometimes, and when you have a blog called abysitterdotfuckingcom that's pretty much out when it comes to anyone who gets in touch with you. Wahhhhhh!)

Basically, what I'm saying is, whenever you're ready to trade places with me, I'm all about it.

I'm not sure if you have friends outside of this community, or if you're actually saying you have no friends at college period - if that's the case you need to go out and meet some people. Believe me when I say, diapers will always be there. And they get cheaper and easier to get every year. And more and more people trickle into this community every year, as well. So rest easy knowing that your life in this community is just beginning, and from everything you told me, I have no doubt you're going to take it by storm.

Use the next three years to excel in school and start looking at grad schools, and then pick a part of the country rife with diaperboys to move to. Take this time to get to know people at school, and people in the community, as well. Believe me when I say, there are a ton of little 18-21 year-old collegebabies who would piss themselves for the chance to talk to you. (Not that they're not pissing themselves anyway). Put out some feelers on sites like RUPadded.com - or look at the list of links to the right for more - and get to meeting. And remember how lucky you are that you get the chance to. I used to sit in my Mustang on the banks of the Niagara river, depressed, and I had zero options. You have a ton. It'll just take time.

As for those feelings of depression, guilt, and shame you are talking about... I understand those, too. That's college, kid. Right now you're super-aware of your surroundings, and how out-of-place you feel in them when you get those infancy urges. Can I just say something? Fuck counseling.You, me, and thousands of other diaper dudes out there have an instinctive need to wear diapers. Stop trying to fix it, because it can't be fixed. Stop feeling guilty about it, because it's not something you have an ounce of control over. It is as much a part of you as your love for swimming and your dislike of academics. You can get all As, but you may never grow to like school; you can quit the team, but you'll always have two hours in the afternoon you know you should be doing sets in the water. You can quit wearing diapers, but you'll always miss them - and not wearing them will probably feel just as wrong then as wearing them probably does, now.

Depression sucks, Chad. Meet some people, have some fun, sit under a heat lamp, or even see a doctor if you need to. Do what you need to do in able to get through it. Because bro... I've diapered nearly one hundred people, and had lots of crazy Pampered fun, but at your age you know how many ABDLs I'd met? Zeeeeero. The fun, my friend, is definitely ahead of you. But not if you do something dumb. So start envisioning it, and planning it, and over the next few years? DO IT.

Shellback Ceremony?

Owen Honors is the navy officer who was demoted yesterday after videos he made a few years ago surfaced in the media. The videos used sexually suggestive language, gay slurs, and other offensive material.

Today's Washington Post discusses his fate - as well as the Navy's "Shellback Ceremony" which involves - surprise, surprise - a huge diaper.

"Other former Navy officers acknowledged that ribald humor, similar in nature to the sexual innuendo in Honors's videos, is a storied part of Navy tradition. For decades ships have held elaborate "Shellback" ceremonies for sailors making their first trip across the equator. These rituals typically have involved young sailors in drag and licking grape jelly from the belly button of a fat sailor who is dressed in an oversized diaper.

The Navy has made periodic efforts to clamp down on the Shellback initiations, urging commanders to dispense with belly-licking and "beauty contests" in which male sailors dress up as women. Navy commanders also have begun to play a more prominent role in monitoring the shipboard ceremonies to ensure that sailors aren't offended."
