New Event (& Sponsor): West Coast Jungle Gym

If you've visited my ABDL events page lately - or any number of events pages you'll find around the internet these days - you've seen talk of a new event coming out this year: the West Coast Jungle Gym

The West Coast Jungle Gym bills itself as an ageplay conference. It is going to be held September 7 - 9 in San Diego, California. They'll feature "exciting education worships, out-of-this-world social parties, fun and helpful vendors, giveaways, a dark age play dungeon, puppy mosh, and the conferences first  Little Miss, Mr. Mx. & Pet contest!" I'm also told there will be a pool party!

They welcome "all little type folks (18+) Littles, middles, baby girls, lolitas, little sissies and bubbies, age players, folks that regress, folks that don’t, sexual littles, non-sexual littles, Adult babies, Diaper Lovers - regardless of gender, identity, race, age or ability." They also welcome "their caregivers, Daddys, Mommys, Aunties, Babysitters, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, etc. Along with critters, puppies, kitties and their handlers to join us."

Sounds like fun in the SoCal sun for literally everyone.

Those of you who have been riding with me since Day One may remember when I posted for a new event called CAPCON. Responses I got at the time ranged from reserved excitement to skepticism that an ABDL conference could ever happen. This year they had over 800 attendees, and I taught a class. If I had a dollar for every time I said that

I'm pleased to announce that WCJJ has donated a ticket to their inaugural event to the #Abysitter1mil Photo Contest. I haven't plugged in where it will go, but we'll be adding it to a category or introducing a new one, and I'm open to suggestions. abysitter@gmail.com 18+

Q&A With Babysidekick

[CWIS'S NOTE] Up today I have a Q&A from Jesse, aka Babysidekick. You probably recognize him from his Tumblr. He's an old favorite of mine, and we talk a lot about all kinds of things, from upcoming trips to the Luvs Boat to work to... you name it. Anyway, his Q&A gets pretty personal. It's a good read, and I highly recommend it...

Q&A With Babysidekick

Name/Nick: Babysidekick
Age: 23
City/State/Country: New Hampshire
AB/DL: AB/DL

When did you first realize you were ABDL? For the little dunces, please tell us about what it was like to discover this fetish/lifestyle on the Internet. Please be at least 18 at the time of writing, but be specific about what age you discovered it, what sites helped you, and keep this part PG for obvious reasons.

I first encountered abdl when I was 17, after many years of just assuming that I liked diapers for a sexual reasons ,I found the motherload of abdl stuff on tumblr. At the time I figured hey, I have my own place, i'm going to go on the internet looking for pictures of diapered guys… if it makes my penis hard that means i like it for that right?  I soon found that wasn't the case when i stumbled upon tumblr. What I found was the key to the secret door hidden away inside me that i didn't even know was there. Inside was the truth and finally for that moment some answers to what made me tick. I had always been somewhat of a big child i always wanted the toys at the stores even at the age of 17, I couldn't resist going to the toy stores and just looking at them all wishing to own them…..I played with the ones i did have and to this day my room is inhabited by many action figures, posters, stuffies and games and comics. But seeing these people  in diapers, without a care, surrounded by their plushies and blankies sucking on pacifiers and bottles brought me to the reality that this wasn't sex and that this was the way i wanted and needed to live.

It brought me back to when my step mother used to make fun of me for sleeping like a superhero in my batman pajamas laying with fists clenched and my arms and legs positioned as if i was leaping off the ground to fly into battle.Yes diapers are involved but they're more of a safety and convenience item. kind of symbol of identity for me as an abdl, i mean if I can't control my bladder then, I shouldn't be in control of a lot of things right? An abdl relationship is such a sweet and intimate relationship, where age doesn't matter and its okay to like to crawl around or sit at chairs on your knees watching cartoons or even to get excited about silly things  ….you truly get to be yourself.  If you're lucky enough to have Someone who is also into abdl and is willing to make sure you schedule your appointments or just helping you get  through all the other anxiety inducing things that seem just to big and daunting to do alone, and also just there to to make you feel like the light in their world is the dream….. Also making sure you won't be leaking all over the place… that's what abdl is for me. when i found abdl I finally had some answers to who I was. Since then i've made my own tumblr been to diaper bois and fetlife as well, But mainly keep to tumblr.

What steps did you take to get your diaper 'fix' as a child and/or teen?

I remember wanting to wear diapers as far back as 5 years old… my step brother still wore them and he got all the attention and never got in trouble for not making it to the potty.. I remember seeing this as a unfair betrayal by my father and stepmother. By the time i was 9, I was really close to one of my cousins, who had younger brothers who wore goodnites to bed. I remember trying to find toilet paper for the bathroom during a sleepover there, and stumbling upon the big box of goodnites. Once my eyes made contact with the package I couldn't control myself… I tore my clothes off put one on and then quickly got redressed in my sleep pants and shirt. These weren't diapers per say but they were close enough and for that moment I felt so good. I dare not pee in it though as i was sleeping in my cousins room that night. I was not as skilled in the arts of stealth as i am now however as i had somehow managed to tuck the back of my shirt into the goodnight! My cousin saw and asked “why are you wearing a diaper?!” i remember asking him back “why aren't you?” and then promptly rolling over on my side and going to sleep. He never brought it up or anything but i felt like i had won some small unmentioned battle. Other than that, I went a very, very, long time without diapers….. due to moving around my access to them was zero and I never had privacy growing up. But something would always make me squirm inside when I saw or heard a diaper commercial, the smell of the baby isle in the stores.

The next time I wore a diaper I was 14 and just coming to grips with also being homosexual.. I talked to one of my older friends about them... and after explaining what little I knew at the time about why I wanted them, he brought me up to the dollar store. I bought some pack of cheap not so cool looking diaper... then I remember how nervous I was bringing them to the counter…. The sweat and the shaking limbs and how it made me feel all over inside and out was overwhelming my tiny little neck hairs raised... I snuck them home and wore them to bed, although I still never wet them.. I think this was when i got them confused with being a sexual item. By that time puberty had hit hard and everything gives you a boner when you are 14.

Do your parents and/or siblings know about you and diapers? If so, please explain how, and how they reacted?

I have a sneaking suspicion that my great aunt knows that i still like to wear diapers and stuff. By the time i moved to live with her I've been through a heck of a lot of stuff emotionally and physically. she rescued me and took me in when i was 15. At that time I still had some diapers hidden in my travel bag from when i bought them a year before at the store. when we were moving me into her place she saw one took it out and looked me right in the face and said “jesse what is this? Are you regressing??” her concerned tone scared me and I was already humiliated by her finding it to begin with. What the heck was regressing? Why was she so concerned? I told her idk why that's there and i've never seen it before in my life. This was the first time i ever lied to her,  I am a god awful liar. She just looked at me awhile and then went to the bin and threw away the last of the diapers i had been hoarding for a year and a bit. That was the end of my diaper shenanigans until I was almost 18 and moved to my own apartment. But I believe she knew more about me than I did. She never mentioned it again.

Have you dealt with the shame and regret that is the binge/purge cycle? Please explain.

Yes i've felt the purge… it is not fun and usually you end up worse off than before the purged in my experience. I dont burn my stuff or throw it out but rather lock it all away in the depths of the closet and dont wear or do anything “immature” . that tends to lead to me turning into a volcano of emotions and pent up feelings. Im terribly hard on myself about many things such as not making bad decisions at work or not being good enough at things such as people skills and the sort. Add being a big diaper baby on top of that and the amount of emotional pressure and stress is to much sometimes and then I slink into the purge mindset.

My big mistake last time i purged just a year ago was not building enough relationships or support networks in the community to help me through those feelings and avoid the purge. Having been lead on when thinking i've made a friend that i want to be close to for the rest of my life who is also abdl and the subsequent drama around that and people coming and going left mt feeling shattered. I tried to hang around for a bit but it got to the point where i didn't see the point in abdl if all i ever felt was alone. Loneliness is something everyone in this community battles or has battled at one point or another. But I feel it's important to look deeper than yourself when you're down or lonely try to make new friends i didn't do this before i purged last time and i see now that this was a big oversight.

My advice is to reach out and don't get discouraged about it if people don't seem interested there are tons of people in this community once you get through the crap you'll find the true gems and little treasures that can be your friend no matter if you're an active abdl or on a purge. Dont throw away gifts or little things. Sebastian my teddy is an example of a gift that after my purge I gave a new identity to and bought a new outfit for and now hes my favorite teddy again.

How has this fetish affected your social life and/or dating? Married life? Parenting?

This has not negatively affected my social life, if anything it has made me more social. trying to find people who are like me to be friends with, and inspiring the sneaky lurkers to come out about it is what i love posting on my tumblr. I hope someone unknowing abdl stumbles on my blog and finds the wealth of this community like i did when i was 17.

Some experts believe that we become the way we are because of traumas experienced at an early age, including abuse and/or neglect. Do your life experiences bear this out?

I feel this is somewhat true. my childhood, or lack thereof, was spent mostly either grounded secluded to my room ,being the housemaid, being dragged from one town to the next moving constantly and I never truly had the social experiences or friends to help me grow as a person until i was well in my teen years. Neglect abuse you name it i've been through it and i do feel my lack of a loving family influences my desire to be a little guy that needs to be taken care of and snuggled.

What % of your sexual activities and/or masturbation incorporate diapers? Has this caused problems for you?

For a long time i thought diapers were just sex, but that's not it at all. I've learned that yes diaper boys can be very attractive and yes sometimes boners happen but to me abdl and diapers isn't a sex thing. It's taken me a long time to realize that when i was younger it was doing something i knew i probably shouldn't have been doing and breaking the rules that got me excited not the diapers themselves. Diapers seemed to be 80% of my arousal but now that i am more aware of how i work id say its only 15% not that i wouldn't do anything with another abdl if we had that kind of relationship but its not what gets me going. Padded buts are great and all but i prefer to keep abdl and sex separate  .

If you get into the regression aspect of ABDL please tell us more about that. If you do not, and you have feelings about being lumped into a fetish involving it, explain how it makes you feel.

Regression. Or rather more like releasing who i am, this is what this is for me. I'm not one to judge this who fetishize it and i don't care enough to get into a war over what tags we use or dont use on blog posts. If diapers give you boners more power to you sometimes they give me them too. But for me being padded, in my favorite kiddish clothes snuggled up with my cat buried under plushies and watching the lord of the rings for the 10zillionth time or cartoons like justice league without a care in the world…... wondering if i have dino nuggets left in the freezer….. or playing a video game and letting myself talk out loud to it without being embarrassed coming up with silly stories about the characters and stuff thats me.

Regression is a deep therapy and it gets easier to regress the more you do it. Now having someone put you into little space is amazing...it is so much easier than trying to do it alone. I've only had a handful of meetings with other abdls and i'm very excite to get more into it so that I can be me and make more friends.

Don't let yourself be limited by my questions. If you have anything else at all that you would like to say please feel free to say it here:

I am a strong believer in if what you like to do doesn't harm you or anyone else then you shouldn't be ashamed of it. saying that does not make it easy though i myself fall victim to the shame or embarrassment of abdl and other things but that's why having close friends and letting people in and letting the emotional barriers down a little bit is so important. Abdl can be a very lonely thing for some but if you stick to it and sift through you'll find the real people in the community. The ones that dont see the physical you all the time but see the little guy or girl that you really are. And then once that happens everything gets better. Just remember baby steps! Pace yourselves and be smart but don't give in. :)

Q&A With LittleSkywalker

[CWIS'S NOTE] Up today I have a Q&A from someone brand new to the blog: LittleSkywalker. You have probably seen his pictures around Tumblr, where he is a frequent advocate against the marginalization of stuffies. He took this seriously and did a great job on it - be sure to read all the way through for a special message to the community at the end.

Q&A with LittleSkywalker

Name/Nick: LittleSkywalker
Age: 23
City/State/Country: San Francisco, California
AB/DL/BabyFur/Other? AB/DL

When did you first realize you were ABDL?

I probably realized it when I hit puberty as most do. But I genuinely remember being back in preschool, and trying to steal diapers from the other kids that were still in them. One of my best friends at the time was still in pull-ups, and I vividly remember one day making a secret plan to switch my underroos with him. Sadly, I can’t remember if it happened, but most likely not. But its safe to say that as soon as I got out of diapers, I was rearing to get back in.

What steps did you take to get your diaper 'fix' as a child and/or teen?

I actually don’t remember much other than taking them from family members who still had young kids, and trying to sneak them out of their houses. When I was a little older, around 16 and I could finally drive, was when I think I first bought Goodnites at the drugstore. Of course at the time like everyone, I was petrified. But now I walk up to the counter like it’s no big deal. The things we learn with age *sigh*.

How does being an ABDL interact with your “normal life”?

You know, diapers don’t define me. And I think that gets lost on a lot of people. I’m a normal boy aside from the crinkles coming from my pants. I like to run, swim, hike, play video games, eat pizza, photography, painting, you name it, i’m “normal.” Diapers are normal for me in a way as well. Of course I see them as special and they do make me feel all warm and gooey inside. But they don’t define me, nor does being little. I like to go out and be big sometimes, go a bar with friends, or just have a quiet day at home reading a book. Not everything in my life revolves around my littleness. Not that there isn’t anything wrong with those who do like to go all out in that way, it’s just not for me. That being said, If I was in a position to socially to go 24/7, I think I would, but it would pertain to diapers, and not be a baby 24/7 if that makes sense.

Do your parents and/or siblings know about you and diapers? If so, please explain how, and how they reacted?

My parents have found my diapers before, nothing much had been said of it. Other than why are they they there: “Uh, I don’t know” usually was a good enough answer to end the conversation as it was an awkward topic. But it has never been formally brought up or spoken about.

Have you dealt with the shame and regret that is the binge/purge cycle? Please explain.

Absolutely. You’re like, ah this is awesome! And then you think you’re a freak. It took me probably until I was about 18 or 19 to finally stop that cycle. For anyone that has been through it, it’s pretty shitty. You spend your allowance on diapers, and then throw them out. Not a really good place to be in. For anyone going through that now, I don’t think there’s a way to avoid it, other than knowing it’s ok. I think one of the things that helped me most was a photoset that someone posted. It was a photoshopped version of an Abena bag, and it basically replaced the instructions with phases like “This makes you happy, and some people get their happiness from far worse places, i.e. drugs, alcohol. This doesn’t hurt you or anyone else, so be yourself” or something along those lines.

Tell me about Stiles, and your Jersey

Stiles is a fictional character from the MTV show Teen Wolf. He’s the ultimate spaz, a bit (or wholly) neurotic, but also endearing and loyal to his friend Scott, and his pack. I see myself as him,  in a lot of ways. I think overall we behave the same, and share a lot of the same characteristics, which is why i’ve kind of adopted him as my spirit animal. The jersey, is his number and name, and I guess it kind of just expands upon my obsession. Additionally, outside of the swim team I was never very good at sports (a la Stiles) but unlike him, I let my inability and lack of coordination result in not even attempting to try out for any teams. It probably one of my deepest regrets, so I think the jersey also sort of helps me relive what could have been.

For collegebabies/DLs, did this interest affect your college experiences? If so, how?

Eh…you can say it did. When I had my own dorm/room was when I was finally free to wear…um..freely. It never affected my love life, but my roommates did find out. One of my buddies was using my bathroom, and he came out and loudly announced “WHY ARE THERE DIAPERS IN YOUR TRASH?” And I was mortified, I just explained that they were for some wetting issues which got a follow up “ARE YOU WEARING ONE NOW?!.” After that conversation, it wasn’t brought up again, but everyone knew. So I was comfortable with wearing around them from that point on.

Some experts believe that we become the way we are because of traumas experienced at an early age, including abuse and/or neglect. Do your life experiences bear this out?

Fun story, I was adopted when I was super little, so I think abdl subconsciously came out as a coping mechanism for me to deal with that. Overarchingly I have a few abandonment issues, which I also think comes out of that. Consciously, I’m totally fine with being adopted. But maybe my subconscious wants something more.

Do your interests involve a subset of this community, such as babyfurs, diaper disciplinarians, wet/messy, sissybabies etc.? Please tell us about it. I won't even try to be specific here; just tell us what you think people should know.

Diaper disciplinarians/daddies make me happy. For me, a big aspect of being little is the caring and loving aspect, but who doesn’t like being forced to wear diapers now and again? (or all the time in my case). Diaper waistbands coming out of boys pants when they are otherwise dressed like a big boy also gets to me…in the best way possible.

Stenson and his caretaker
Tell me about Stenson

Stenson is my best friend, and I love him with all my heart. Even outside of little space. I’ve gone for years without a stuffed animal, and frankly, I don’t even remember having a special one as a child. It was just something that I don’t think I ever had or used much to create a bond. Over the years, i’ve started to grow more into an AB than DL, and it’s quite an awesome transition. I’m still big inside my head, but there’s just something about a stuffie that gets me feeling little. I have two stuffies, one named Sammy, who is a sea otter, and Stenson, who I recently got from Build-A-Bear.

Sammy, was a stuffie that I got a trip with my ex, so as much as I love him, he shares some great, and not so great memories. I keep him around to remind me of a good time in my life, but it wasn’t healthy for me to continue to look at him every day and think, wish, or miss my ex.

Stenson was an impulsive purchase, which turned out to be the best decision I’ve ever made. I genuinely don’t think i’ve ever, ever, been more in little space. When he came, my heart had butterflies from excitement. I don’t think i’ve ever experienced anything more wonderful as an abdl other than the excitement that I got from when Stenson first arrived. Since then, we’ve gone on a few adventures, and he sometimes comes with me to work in my backpack. Stenson makes me feel more like a little boy than anything else, and I love every second of it. Who doesn’t think a boy carrying their teddy everywhere isn’t cute? Exactly, nobody.

What % of your sexual activities and/or masturbation incorporate diapers? Has this caused problems for you?

0-5%. Which is why I pretty much ignore all the messages and asks I get that are just like “i’m horny.” That’s nice. I think there’s a large majority of abdls/littles who use diapers to feel safe and comfy. Everyone likes to get off now and again, but honestly, that sort of thing isn’t really for me.

If you get into the regression aspect of ABDL please tell us more about that. If you do not, and you have feelings about being lumped into a fetish involving it, explain how it makes you feel.

Oh hell yeah. I love the idea of being dressed down and being taken down a few pegs. There’s something special about being taken out of your big boy clothes and into something soft and crinkly, with a cute onesie and a paci clipped to your shirt. Regression for me is sort of 50/50. Half forced, half willing. Forced part is being made to wear the cute clothes and diaps. The willingness part falls to you, where you can continue to be 23, or accept that you’re really only 4 inside. I choose the latter :)

- A note:

I want everyone who reads this, to know a few things. I think there is a perception in the abdl community that not everyone is cute, or not everyone is worthy of being “tumblr famous.” Alright, well, that’s bullshit. Some of the nicest people i’ve ever talked to have like 10 followers, and everyone is cute when they’re little. You don’t need cute clothes, you don’t need expensive diapers. You don’t need anything to be little, except being yourself. That being said, i’m acutely aware that was raised by a well off family, and that it’s easy for me to say these things, but I think the overall tumblr community could be a bit more open to accepting everyone, rather than just the twinks or jocks with every diaper imaginable.. Everyone has worth :)

Just remember, it’s what’s on the inside that matters.
