World Cup Boosting Adult Diaper Sales?

From an article from a marketing website:

"South Korean retailer Home Plus is reporting what may be the strangest economic benefit. It credits fans gathered at big outdoor World Cup rallies, unwilling to miss one minute of the action, for driving a 168% increase in sales of adult diapers last month."

Can't imagine what a South Korean outdoor World Cup rally must be like. But I bet one could purchase a portable massage table, pack up some diapering supplies and a 'Diaper Changing Station' sign, and make some dough...

As many of you know, I am home (upstate New York) for most of July.

I was wandering around the house I grew up in - diapered, of course - and I found my old high chair.




When I saw it a hundred fantasies I've had replayed in my head. It's like that high chair is a portal to another time and place, a different headspace. As if, if I could jussst squeeze my fat ass into that seat and pull the tray into locking position, I could ride it like a time warp to the years I so often dream of going back to.

Side note: can you tell we were really, really poor?

NEWS UPDATE! 'Diaper Boy' found guilty!

NEWS UPDATE! 'Diaper Boy' Convicted of Felonies.

You may remember Barton Bagness. He is the Utah ABDL who makes a habit of creating diaper-related flyers for distribution - and for wearing a diaper to playgrounds and exposing it to small children, sometimes telling them that he wears diapers just like them.

Mr. Bagness was found guilty of several felonies this week.

From the local ABC affiliate:

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - The man known as “Diaper Boy” has been found guilty of 2nd degree felony sexual exploitation of a minor, and two counts of 3rd degree felony lewdness involving a child.

It took the jury only an hour and a half to find Bagnes guilty this afternoon.

Prosecutors say Bagnes wears a diaper and shows it off to children. In the past eight years, police say they've received 20 complaints from parents claiming Bagnes exposed his diaper to young children.

Bagnes was ordered to a pre-sentencing evaluation. For now sentencing has been set for July 28th.

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Prosecutors say they've had it with Barton Bagnes.

Bagnes is on the state's sex offender registry for lewdness involving children.

He's been arrested numerous times for wearing a diaper and showing it to children.

Court records show that he’s spent little time in jail.

A mother whose son was victimized by Bagnes said she’s not happy with the way prosecutors have handled the cases.

“It’s frustrating to see the system doesn’t work because its only a matter of time,” said Etienne Brasher.

But after he was arrested last week for exposing his diaper to children at a recreation center at East Millcreek, prosecutors got tough.

They charged him with three felonies, not misdemeanors. Under a new law sex offenders on the registry can be charged with a felony for lewdness involving children.

"I certainly think this is a response to that frustration that they were feeling because it recognizes that this is someone who has a previous problem, said Alicia Cook a spokesperson with the Salt Lake District Attorney’s office.

If convicted, Bagnes could spend up to five years in prison.

A mother who lives near Bagnes supports what prosecutors are trying to do.

And it’s all because of her son. She won't let him play alone outside.

“I think it's a shame that every little kid should be able to play in his own yard and for his parents to feel safe," said Emily who didn’t want her last name used.

But another neighbor has a different view of Bagnes.

She also has a young son, but says Bagnes needs treatment, not prison.

"He's going to come out and just be a worse of a threat, to me,” said Laney Nielsen. “He's done this several times. He's crying for help." Bagnes also faces eleven other counts of lewdness involving children. But those are being tried as misdemeanors at the Holladay justice court. City prosecutors and Salt Lake County sheriff detectives preferred to go that route because they wanted to keep a careful eye on the case.

I wish life was such that we could all wear disposable diapers in public. And, in some places, we can. But the local playground is not the place for this, especially with children present.

Mr. Bagness is about to learn a hard lesson. They don't distribute disposable diapers in prison. I say, again... don't involve children in your ABDL lifestyle.

Keep it 18+, and check ID.

And if you're going to do perverted stuff and try to involve children in your actions, for God's sake please don't call out of the rest of us by making flyers pointing people who don't want to be involved in our lifestyle to websites about it...

WHITE CITY UTAH (ABC4 News) – A man authorities call “diaper boy” has been arrested again, but this time they said there is more disturbing behavior associated with him.

Barton Bagnes was jailed Thursday afternoon for allegedly displaying his diaper to young children in the White City area.

Bagnes has been arrested several times for similar behavior but prosecutors have failed to file charges because showing a diaper doesn’t constitute a crime.

“But yesterday he was also passing out flyers that we consider quite disturbing,” said Lt. Don Hutson of the Salt Lake County sheriff’s office.

The flyers were of a website that displayed children in diapers.

“Some of their poses were of children that were much older in provocative poses,” said Lt. Hutson.

But he said he’s unsure if the website would be considered child pornography.

“We’re going to talk with prosecutors and let them decide what kind of charges should be filed against him.”

ABC 4 News contacted Proctor and Gamble because the website alluded to a brand of diapers they sell.

“We were unaware of the website but it is clearly a concern to us,” said Trisha Higgins of Proctor and Gamble.

She said they will refer the material about the website to their attorneys.

Meanwhile, Bagnes remains in the Salt Lake County jail.

Of course, none of our community's mainstream websites allow pictures of children at all. But this case proves that they're out there, and that people like Mr. Bagness will find them.

I thought I would share with you, and have already sent a fairly vanilla response to the editor of the magazine.

The article about John Waters in which he recommends that we "lock those f*ckers up" when referring to adult babies surprised and disappointed me.

Here is a guy who sympathizes with a grown man who crawled down into a public park's porta-potty to be defecated on, but who in the same paragraph refers to adult babies is perverts. As an 'adult baby' I can tell you that our lifestyle has nothing to do with children. Infantilism instead refers to regression to complete helplessness, simulated infancy, and the relationship between the 'adult baby' and his or her caregiver. The only connection between the two: both porta-johns and diapers are used for shitting. Personally, I'd shit in my adult-sized Pampers right about the same time I'd shit in a public potty: never.

We all want the 'fountain of youth'; the thousands of adult babies and collegebabies out here just put on a diaper and stop searching for it.

Sounds like Mr. Waters' book should make for some great outhouse reading. Thanks for the heads up.

FUNNY STORY

Tonight I got to meet an AB I originally met on MySpace more than two years ago. Colton. He's a dope-ass collegebaby (and recent grad... yay), and cute as hell. The funny thing is, the DAY after he put his diaper pics up on MySpace I told him about the blog; all of his pictures, including some adorable costume party ones. When I asked him about it, he said he just wasn't ready to be "public"... hmmm.

Fast forward to today. Colt admitted that he got scared when he saw the blog! He hadn't seen a diaper website and had NO IDEA how many of us are out here. He also was afraid he'd be the next star of the blog, and he's extremely private.

"I didn't wanna wake up and think of thousands of people jackin to my baby pictures," he said then. Which was ironic, since my blog was getting about 12 daily views back then.

Long story short... visiting Orlando, he got the chance to be diapered, changed, and fed a baby bottle by another person for the first time. And, much to his surprise... no surveillance cameras. He thought I lived in some kind of crazy webcam Pampers-pay-per-view lair. Lol!
